New Financial Problem? HElp?
So my case took a good turn with the help of an amazing attorney. The problem with this is, I have to divorce my husband. And the cost of this along with court dates involving CPS, all the case work, and all other research involved with my case, has added up to a very high attorney bill, and while i...

the best advice i can give you is to contact an attorney asap and ask their advice, but until then if your not under threat of your child being taken away immediatley, tell the CPS worker that you have hired and attorney and they request that the CPS worker speak with them before talking to you. Its...

Okay so if the ICPC is initated then the Judge is okay-ing my son going to a family member right? And it will go from here to idaho and back and then to a judge again? All in 30 days? Once the 30 days are up then what? Does the family member come down and get my son or what? Sorry I just want all my...

I have court on the 21st. Can my lawyer request directly to the judge that my case worker initiate ICPC, because she failed to do so the first time I asked? And when she does that b/c my son is under the age of 2 it will have to be expedited in 30 days. after that he will be transported to idaho? Wh...

Will the case go to Idaho if hes there, or stay in the state im in, and he'll have to come back down here to co...

Suggestion
I have a suggestion- I think there should be a page for things that need to be done immediatley before/immediatley following the removal of children. There are many things I wish I would have known months ago, like how important it is to file a signed AFFIDAVITwith the court, not CPS. Things like th...

Ok well I will call my attorney tomorrow and make sure he talks to her. My child is 16 months old, and as far as I understood it, because of his age, it would be filed ASAP, but you know CPS so it was just brought to my attention monday that it hadnt even been put down on paper or anything.

How Long
About how long did it take for some of you to get children released back to you or attain custody again? I know every case is different but I would like some sort of time line. Sitting around in limbo is making my hair go gray.

Dakota- I dont know what state your from but the best place to start is to go to your governors official website, and contact the office, wether it be via email, fax, or phone call. They can give you the information on setting up an appointment with him/her. It may take a little while but if you can...

I have already requested that a ICPC order be started for my child, but the CPS worker has yet to do so, thats why im concerned with talking to the Governor about it. If my CPS worker would have done it when asked my child would already be home with my family.

If I were to have my appointment with the governor, is there anyway I can request to have the case moved to my home state? I am not a resident of California, I am a resident of Idaho. I only live here b/c my husband is in the military. I have no support here, and with another baby coming, I can not ...

I do not plan for any reason to tell her, but my attorney will know first thing monday morning. I decided if I have to then I will go back to my home state, and have the baby there. It will be horrible to leave it their and not have that first months bond, but I will not risk a second child in this ...

I dont want to sue my other attorney, but I am frustrated that I PAID someone to help me, and all they've done is guide me. I havent set any expectations with him, b/c I thought that being a recomended attorney he would know that I want my child back. Thats it. I dont want a million dollars, or my C...

Im going to try for an appointment with both of them. I think that a meeting with them, being that they are parents of 4 children, hopefully that not only as political figures, but as loving parents they will have empathy for my situation. Who knows, maybe this will get them to see the horrible syst...

I have an interview with a new attorney on Monday. I feel that the attorney I have already retained is as bad as a public defender. He has basically been guiding me along my journey with CPS, and im tired of it. This new attorney is recommended in my area and he is supposed to be very aggresive. Wil...

ok then,
Would it be better if I set up an appointment with the governor directly, or their spouse? Their spouse is very supportive of military families? Going straight to someone could help possibly? I wish I could go to the president, but thats probably next to impossible.

So I sent my case information to the Governors office. They directed it to State CPS, and said that they will investigate. Do you think that the state aspect as opposed to local will help or is it going to hurt me more? Im trying every resource I have but im at a loss. I couldnt bear losing my child...
