It has now been 2 1/2 years for us. It took a long time for us to be able to get a knock at the door without our hearts pounding. We never even had to sign a case plan and there were never any removals from our home, but the last two investigators were just nasty. I still have to fight to keep from p...

We have several reasons for wanting to move, not just CPS. My youngest daughter is going to be eleven in Feb. and while she is...

Wife Swap (TV Reality show)
Last night on Wife Swap the show featured a family who believes that bacteria is their friend and never cleans, refuses to eat cooked food and brushes teeth with clay and butter.Their kids did not go to school (or do home school either from the sound of it) and had to work the farm. Another time the...

Sorry it took so long for me to respond but we had computer troubles. Anyway I do think that she really needed to be home all along. I am still working twelve hour shifts on the weekends at a nursing home and cannot wait until I can go to my supervisor and say "I'm giving my two weeks notice- Bye !"...

Well the good news is his hearing before an administrative law judge is in September. After that it may take...

He is definately not Goth by any means. According to that article he should be in a mental health center and so should ...

fightingfor3. She DID have an IEP but we had it canceled after the last staff meeting went so badly with them telling us that they were going to "force the issue" of her getting on the bus while screaming in terror. Since before we officially began to home school she has been receiving private thera...

Welcome to the board. But in Wyoming it states you can prosecute the person if the report was found to be false. Should I believe her? And how can I find out who made the phone call. If you are correct I think I might just move to Wyoming! I would have loved to prosecute the evil guidance counselor ...

We live near a small town that is nearly an hour away from her school. We wanted to get her moved to one of our local schools that are much closer but we are told that hers is the closest one for grade school age children. We tried for a mackay scholarship to get her to the only other public school ...

We have already been accepted by the Home school Legal Defense Association. We are learning about the record keeping thing and are currently looking for an appropriate curriculum for a low functioning autistic. We would rather teach her ourselves than have a tutor which we cannot afford anyway. Our ...

Hubby and I went to a staff meeting last Thursday. All this school year my youngest daughter, who is severely autistic, has had an intense fear of getting on the bus. She would scream in terror while holding her hands over her ears. the behavioral therapists actually came out to our home to see if t...

I found it in the Florida state statutes when I looked it up online. I was actually trying to find out if potential employers had access to the records since I work in the health care field. Under "Confidentiality of records" down near the bottom of the 2005 Florida statutes. Try looking up the stat...

hello
We have two special needs kids. I know what you mean about CPS being used as a weapon by the school district because that is pretty much what has happened with us in the past. Over a period of about a year and a half we got investigated three times and two of those investigations were started becaus...
