Re: Ok so anonymous therapy DOES EXIST!
Well it looks like we might have found some middle ground. Found a therapist who specializes in Reactive Attachment Disorder, or RAD, and one of the "hallmarks" of RAD is triangulation and lying... and so most RAD specialist therapists conduct therapy sessions with the parent or parents pa...

Re: custody / legal issue
Yeah, it is very confusing because when he took off with her for a year, he had four or five different addresses. Even when we got her home, CPS was still involved, and he did not give us his current address. We mentioned it to the cps worker and she got it from him and gave it to us. That's the las...

Re: custody / legal issue
So the last address HE gave us, not the one I can find via Google? I tried to find specific legal info, in the Texas family code and elsewhere, spelling this out but could not.

Re: custody / legal issue
Well he just made a child support payment! Arrgh! Actually last month but we didn't know. It goes to a debit card and it had been so long since the last payment we hadn't bothered to check. But dangit, doesn't that re-start his "clock" on the abandonment issue? I think it does, even if he ...

Re: getting medical records from when she was gone?
I have emailed Medicaid in Texas. I am just confused, since I want the medical records but first I have to find out where he took her (which hospitals, clinics, doc offices, etc) so I am hoping that that is in the Medicaid claims history or something and they will tell me.

custody / legal issue
This is not really CPS related at this point (though they started the whole mess!) If you aren't familiar with our story, here is the 30 second version: DD was with bio dad on court ordered visit. CPS shows up for reasons unrelated to us, investigating about other people in the home. Bio dad lies an...

Re: Concerned about another family...
Yes, CPS will arrive to kidnap the children of the family in the tent if they are called. I hope this family is able to find housing very soon. If they tell anyone in the county's housing authority that they are living in a tent, this worker may call CPS on them, also. When they go to apply for hou...

Re: Living in a Camper?
Well you know, if we had the money we'd just buy a huge chunk of land and live off-the-grid. Seriously. Or go back to private schools, which were great when we did have the $$. Pfffft. But yeah I forgot about them needing the address for districts and funding and making sure your kids is in the corr...

Concerned about another family...
I know of someone who is allowing a family to live in a tent in their backyard. This family (mom, dad, kids) was homeless. The other person heard about it and agreed to let them stay in their backyard in a large tent. They have access to the house for bathing and cooking. I understand the homeowner'...

Re: Letter to school
I don't understand... If CPS knows you refuse to allow an interview at home, then they cannot go conduct one at school. But isn't it common for CPS to bypass you entirely and head straight to school before you (the parent) have any idea that they are even investigating? We had that happen. Well, in ...

Re: Living in a Camper?
I noticed this thread because we might be living in a similar housing situation when we move, if we need time to find housing that will accept our pets. Anyway, I was wondering about using a PO Box. What would be your answer if someone demanded to know why you were not providing a physical address? ...

Re: our story
Sadly, your friends probably think that a CPS investigation will never happen to them because they falsely believe that CPS workers are child saviors. I thought the same thing for many years. I hope your friends never have to learn that CPS is a logrolling child-stealing industry that can take ANYO...

Hurray for posting your CPS nightmare so others can learn about the horrors of CPS! There was something therapeutic about finally writing it all out. :) We have had other really bad CPS encounters but this was by far the worst. The others illustrate the crazy behaviors of various CPS workers we've ...

Re: Better off w/ a diagnosis for our kid? (prevention )
Thanks y'all! We have been so on the fence. Her primary problems look like some form of Reactive Attachment Disorder. One of the hallmark features of this problem is "crazy lying" and it is common for kids with this issue to lie and say they have been abused, not fed, whatever. She will li...

That is crazy.
Were you caring for her before on your SSI? If so, how can they say that you can't care for her?
I thought they were not SUPPOSED to consider poverty neglect, but isn't that what they are doing? I am sorry, I wish I had more answers.

Re: My ex-husband died, now CPS tried to remove my children!
How are things going? Do you still have your children? Have you and your lawyer submitted a declaration or other paperwork to the court? I hope you have a good lawyer who will protect your family. Poor kids have gone through so much already. Hard to believe that leaving children in the car with a 1...

getting medical records from when she was gone?
How can we go about getting medical records from the time our daughter was not in our care?
She was with her biological father, but under CPS supervision. No contact with him anymore. She was on Medicaid though. Will Medicaid tell us what docs or clinics she visited in that year?

Re: I'm almost afraid to take the baby to the doctor
I am just chiming in with something that may or may not be relevant; I am just really realizing, 19 years later, that my firstborn son's birth issues likely were related to his slow growth as a baby. I was accused of neglect (by the docs, amazingly CPS never visited back then!), he was labeled "...

Better off w/ a diagnosis for our kid? (prevention )
I wasn't sure where to put this, and it pertains to how to best protect ourselves in the future from unwanted / unwarranted CPS intrusion. We are moving out of state next year. Currently, our child is in a school where we don't worry TOO much about CPS calls (of course you never know), because the p...

Re: Personality changes in toddler after foster care
I know exactly what you mean. We have a totally different child than the one that used to live with us.... I mean, of course there were developmental changes in the year she was gone, but that's not it. It's like she has a totally different personality. :( She is in elementary school now, and we hav...

Ok so anonymous therapy DOES EXIST!
Just because, I googled "anonymous therapy", not really expecting much in the way of results. Well, lo and behold: anonymoustherapy dot com. http://www.anonymoustherapy.com/ Now I don't see how this would work for children in need of therapy, and I am sure it is not cheap... but I thought ...

I agree with Daruma; MOVE. Move now. I am so sorry for you. Your story is heartbreaking. I know, and have been there, having a child young seems to be one more thing "they" like to use against you. I wasn't as young as you, but it was also 19 years ago... having a child at that age was def...

Re: Personality changes in toddler after foster care
mamalion; It is good that you do have a therapist who understands. We are too terrified and as a result our child needs therapy but isn't getting it. Since your child is still little, I would take an Attachment Parenting type of approach for sure. Our daughter was parented this way, before CPS took ...

Just wanted to write it all out. Our ordeal took place years ago but the effects are forever. It is very long, and if you have any "issues" with same sex parents you might want to skip it. Anyway, thought I'd share:

Re: Non-Custodial Parent Question
I am a custodial parent (well, I was, before CPS kidnapped my daughter) , and the noncustodial parent sexually molested her. (According to her, her behavior, her STD, and her testimony ). CPS has a service plan for me, but not the NCP. They have a case plan and services for me, but not the NCP. The...
