This is a wonderful site: http://conductdisorders.com It helped me tremendously with my daughter who has bipolar. Do you have an IEP? Some parents have been able to have the schools pay for tutors ect. It is the school's responsibility to provide the education, an IEP secures her rights to that educ...

Well, I don't understand because I've already been adjudicated. Already past the initial permanency hearing. It will be two years they've had custody in May. What happens if they dismiss after they've already adjudicated? Does anyone know if they set a hearing and it is continued, does it then meet ...

Has Anyone Heard Of This
I talked to the SW and we are suppose to have a permanency hearing in April or May. She said if it doesn't happen by June she can make a recommendation to dismiss the case. Has anyone ever heard of this?

I've asked before if I move if the case will be transfered to where I move, the answer was no. Even if I move out of state, I would be required to come here for visitation, court, etc. MHO, I wouldn't do it. It looks shady and feels shady. What happens to this woman if she is caught doing this? What...

I had this happen in my case. Make it clearly documented that you have completed every thing on the treatment plan and anything they have asked of you. They CANNOT force you to admit something you did not do. PERIOD. Do NOT give in, things will be much much worse if you do. They must go on the treat...

I wasn't very clear. My kids will be in care for two years on May 10th. I've already been adjudicated. I've already made it through the initial permanency hearing and now I am at 120 day transitional period. The kids are scheduled to come home July 1st and the case to be closed Oct. 1st. I was under...

Hey Anxiousmom, Hang in there. I'm sure the anxiety is getting to you. Do something to keep yourself active. You've come so far you don't want to become depressed or too overwhelmed to handle things now. Keep up the great work and don't let the negative thoughts or fears stop you now. Deal with thin...

Well I just talked to my lawyer again. She said that the two years that the state was allowed to keep them (May 10th) means nothing because the transition plan fulfills that requirement?! So, 120 days starting March 1st. They won't be in my "physical custody" until July 1. CPS will not close the cas...

We were talking about how difficult it is to parent now a days, today your told one thing, tomorrow it's the wrong thing. All I can say is that you have this point on. We all didn't plan this in our lives and have all been changed by what has happened to us on so many levels. But you have today and maybe tomorrow. You seem like you had very much a plan in mind on how things should be, how your family should be. It's no...

The most difficulties I believe with the case plans are the social workers themselves not following through with things, referrals, home visits, etc. I've had parenting classes, random drug screens (not a drug user, never have been) which I have to call everyday to see if I will have to go in for, I...

We are going to appeals on the adjudication (just took place, nine months after they took my kids.) I am at a 120 day transition period, but my lawyer told me that May 10th the children have to come home or they have to out of the blue move to TPR, since May 10th will be 2 years exactly since my chi...

Update
Okay, well a lot has happened since I was last on here. I just needed a break to gather my strength. The social worker, as some of you may remember through the e-mails, breached confidentiality in a major way. She approached me in a bar and talked specifically about my case in front of many people. ...

In the Declaration of Facts make sure to say that at no time have you all "consented" not to the removal, not to the pot test, not to the treatment plan. Your child was held hostage and used against you to cooperate with them so that they can earn a buck. Whether they have legal guardianship of the ...

Just try and be as straight forward and direct with him as possible. Ask him, what is it that you are willing to do or not do for me? Tell him that you will not tolerate abuse, especially as he is working for YOU. Tell him that you have to listen to your gut and to make the decisions that are right ...
