Do you have an attorney?

If not I would strongly suggest you get one, for your protection. One of the biggest mistakes I made was in not hiring an attorney (my child was not removed from my home but I went through months of home visits, etc.). I thought that since I was innocent I didn't need legal advice. Sounds like they ...

One more thing

I should add that back when it happened to me, the internet was non-existent. No chat rooms or message boards, no place where I could gain strength from knowing that many other people were also falsely accused.

This is what I was told

The false accusations against me happened back in the 1980s and my child is now grown. I answered my door and a young woman was standing there, a file folder full of papers in her hands. She asked if I was ******** and I said yes. Then she said "I'm **** * from the Department of Human Services and t...

True story re/foster parents

I was talking to a couple at church yesterday & they have had a young man living with them for 2 years. I had seen him with them & assumed he was one of their children, but he was actually a former foster child. He had been in foster care since the age of 9, in several different homes. When ...

Watch out if your child bruises easily

My daughter is fair-skinned and always bruised easily. After she began walking and running, in the summer especially (wearing shorts instead of long pants) she usually had a line of tiny bruises up and down her legs, below the knee, from climbing, bumping into things, falling, etc. She was 2 when I ...

I agree!

About children calling 911 for help when they don't get their own way & getting parents in trouble. My daughter & her friend, who were both 8 or 9 at the time, were "playing with the phone" and called 911. They hung up, but the police came about 15 minutes later to be sure everything was oka...

Those poor poor kids!

I guess I was abused as a child, too -- I was forced to practice the piano, couldn't watch TV on school nights until all my homework was done, had to eat green beans, had to help rake the yard. WHY didn't I call CPS and have my parents jailed? LOL!

Good spoof article, though!

Tips that may be helpful

Never, ever speak negatively of your child to anyone. People who don't know you well -- like teachers or health care providers -- might get the wrong impression. When your child starts school, make friends with the teacher, guidance counselors, principal, school secretary. Be sure they know what a n...
