I'm glad you said that. I have had the same thought. I think another thing we should agree to do is each have a letter ready to go to any media personality. When one of us announces we have written to someone in the media, it should be a cue for everyone on here to send your letter to the same perso...

Thank y'all for reading. I know it was a long vent! :) Dazeemay, thanks for spelling out how it's handled there. Those are simple but effective rules, and now I have some good suggestions for the meeting when I go. I appreciate it! Sounds like they have a very good system, and I would feel MUCH more...

School (non)Supervision
I am so thankful for this Round Table discussion area. I have something that really perturbs me, and wanted to share it. My daughter's school, although I have loved every teacher she has had so far, their policies drive me NUTS! We drop her off and pick her up from school. I am still too scared to l...

I am sure you will get some advice about the phone call from some of the people here. I, myself, don't know how to handle it so I'll leave that to the others. I did, however want to give you this link. It is from DCF's policies and procedures. If you haven't already found this, I would recommend rea...

Erich Dumbeck, director of the Huron County Department of Job and Family Services: "We're still trying to figure out what happened in that home. We don't have any indication at this point that there was any abuse," Dumbeck said. Un-freaking-believable! Would this Director of Family Services say the ...

Bean, I wanted my reporter prosecuted as well. It really does seem that if the report is blatantly false, they could do it. I'm in FL. Here is what I was told, by the CW: We NEVER look into the first report as being false, but if it happens repeatedly, we will look into it. That wasn't enough for me...

I totally agree! I am glad you said this, b/c I wanted to say the same. I am here to help and to stay updated on any info in case the thugs come back. I am sick and tired of having to filter through all this b.s. to see if there is anything I can do to help or to see if there is any info I haven't h...

CGlenn - I am in a bit of a hurry, but wanted to say a couple of things. First, I am so sorry you and your family are going through this! It's one of the more ridiculous stories I have seen. One of my kids used to do the same climbing in the window thing. Several times while I thought she was asleep...

adsila, this is a fairly new tactic for parents. What Michael describes will surely be the eventual outcome of parents using this. Dazeemay has put a lot of thought into this, and on the guardianship sticky it has all been discussed. I do believe that for now, this is a viable alternative. It has ce...

I could be wrong about this. I don't know if you necessarily need to give the school a copy. If you have the letter on file that prohibits them from talking to your daughter w/o you present, then maybe you could rely on that to be enough. In public schools here, you have to live in the right school ...

I hope I didn't offend you by posting that. I just thought it was a very moving story. I realize it took place in 1931, and I was not trying to compare it to now. I am not trying to pretend to know all about this. Just thought it was a good movie, and your post about aboriginal rights reminded me of...

Heres a link to information about a movie (based on true story) I saw about the snatching of aborigine children. You may have seen it when I posted in Suggestions. Very good movie, IMO.

Hey, let's all ignore misty and others who post stuff like this. I have been watching misty's posts, and I can tell you when she isn't getting flack, she's not happy. When nobody is arguing with her, she posts something else to ruffle some feathers. Ignore her, and she will go away. If she really wa...

kdddav's wife, I was going to pm you, but I figure some other folks might find this info useful as well. I am curious about something you said. I just *love* these people who come on here, say something to tick everyone off, argue awhile, then complain that nobody does anything but complain. By the way, I have learned repeatedly in life that you can be as smart as a whip, but still not be wise. If misty was wise, she could understand that. ...

Dazee, I have been searching about this. I haven't come up with much at all. I have, however, read that the Amicus Curiae brief is most commonly used in appellate courts. I have also gathered that it is usually filed by an organization, such as ACLU, etc., and I did read in one place that it could o...

New rules/New topic
We really need a new forum topic and some new rules here. People who need help are having their posts buried under others who are discussing details of their own cases and venting about one thing or another. It is sad to me that I read Gary and Lorrie are not coming back. They were a lot of help, an...

I have seen in other states where the mandatory reporters are required to identify thems...
