Re: When they took your kids.....
My kids were taken away because CPS came to my house on investigation that my daughter was eating out of the trash at school. They at that time took all three of my children because if they were to take one they were to take all because siblings are suppose to be together. CPS knew I was trying to g...

Re: Almost out of the woods
I just had to sign some papers and then my caseworker sent a letter to the court for approval and that was it. A few days later I got a copy of the signed order of case closure. I do want to say that as Marina mentioned something could pop up at the very end. I had the foster parents send a horrific...

Re: My autistic son & CPS
My daughter was diagnosed also with Asperger's so as with Linda I too know what you are going through. I tried various methods to keep my daughter in her room at night and nothing worked. We went from 2 baby gates stacked upon each other, motion detector and an alarm that went off when opening the d...

Re: Don't Be Angry With Foster Parents
My kids foster parents tried to sabotage any reunification. If I remember correctly they are there to do the complete opposite and encourage reunification. My kids were brainwashed and used for money. The "babysitters" got almost $3000 a month for the care of my children and basically I st...

Re: Assaulted father, CPS threatens Neglect!
London, I have a soon to be teenager (13 tomorrow) who everyday threatens me to call child abuse because I make him do chores or because I won't let him go outside. Some say go ahead and let him call but when you go through the system you don't want them ever back in your life. My son also reminds m...

Somewhere on this website is a link that will take you to visitation forms which you take with you and document what occurs during your visits. You can also try and google for such forms. Document, document, document. I've learned that from the people here and it helped me a great deal.

Re: My story, need advice plz help
In my situation my children were put directly into foster care even though family placement is always considered first. My parents have no criminal or cps history. At the time time my parents together were making 120,000 a year. They were finger printed and had a home study which passed but yet cps ...

Re: My story, need advice plz help
I agree with the advice given. You need to decide who is more important at this point. If you stay with your fiancee then you can pretty much bank on not having custody of your child anytime soon. Is your fiancee being charged criminally? Also does he get visitation? Leaving your fiancee is only tem...

Re: Psych Evaluation
I was required to do an evaluation when CPS was requesting reunification. I was found to be non abusive and no dependency in drugs or alcohol. CPS obviously didn't like these answers so they used the part of the test I was borderline on against me....and that was I was to strict. CPS I guess didn't ...

Re: CPS took my kids as result of sibling death
This situation sounds so familiar. I had a girlfriend who at the time had 2 children and wasn't with any of the fathers. She moved her boyfriend in and assumed everything was fine until she came home and found her 2 year old falling over. She sought medical treatment right away but the little boy wo...

Re: help with meeting today at 12:00
This sounds like me back when my kids were taken, asking if there was anyway to get my kids home while I comply with their demands. The only advice I would give is to work with your attorney on getting more visitation. I had team meetings every month and the case worker would suggest a little increa...

I want to home school and have been investing alot of hours getting to know all about it. I think I have decided on it for the next school season but I want to know your opinions and if anyone home schools after having a CPS case opened and closed? This is the only thing holding me back from saying ...

Re: This just sucks
Take Linda's advice and make sure to go with a full trial when given the chance. I think we all can admit we didn't go to trial not because we are guilty of anything that CPS alleges but because you are bullied about not seeing your kids or pressured into believing that not going to trial is better....

WOW!
Mom needs to suffer same charges as boyfriend. I'm sorry if I have to shield my child from getting beat then either I'm out or he's out and police called. It's obvious love was more important than her child in my opinion.
Shame on CPS for letting a REAL case fall through.

Re: CASA workers - How to negotiate with them
If I could I would become a Casa worker, not because I would go in there with a big head and demand all the children to go back to their parents but to be fair. I had two Casa workers where one listened and one didn't, one came by more then the other, one asked and presented questions during meeting...

Re: CASA workers - How to negotiate with them
This is a tough one because I had two Casa workers in my case and one worked with me and one worked for the babysitter (aka foster parent). The two Casa workers were so different, even in team meetings they butted heads against each other. I had one wanting the kids home and the other said more time...

I don't want to discourage you but things just never seem that easy when dealing with CPS. I had a service plan as well and mine just consisted of my daughter getting therapy. That was it! I was required to do nothing. No other evaluations, no classes nothing!! But yet my kids were still out of my h...

I would like to add that no matter how perfect you think you are the test will come back with something. It may not be what CPS was hoping for so they will find something that's why they use them in nearly all cases. CPS wanted me to have testing to see whether I am capable of abusing. I passed all ...

Sounds like an all to familiar scenario. They wait and wait and wait. They don't care, they have no feelings involved. They don't realize that they are taking precious time away from us. My best advice is to dig your hands and feet in. For instance, they wanted a parenting eval done on me and it was...

Myself, my parents and my three kids were all evaluated by CPS's psychologist. This psychologist deemed me at risk for being to strict with the kids, my parents were deemed abusers, my youngest daughter was deemed queen of the house based on a drawing and my son well he was deemed a co parent becaus...
