Re: What Is A "Family Team Decision Meeting"?

Thanks, Marina and Dazeemay. The baby has already been removed from the hospital and placed with in foster/stranger care. The shelter care hearing is today. I don't know how it will go; there's a statement of omissions & corrections, but it hasn't been properly formatted for court. DS is hoping ...

Re: Being investigated...their priorities are so strange

The locked door is considered acceptable to those who know about autism and it's easily researched. There's nothing wrong with what I did and I'm still resentful that my discretion wasn't trusted, or at least verified. I believe you, and agree with you. I apologize if my suggestion came across as c...

Re: Being investigated...their priorities are so strange

Angelheart, I don't know anything about autism, but is there some sort of travel door alarm you could use until the issue of the lock is resolved? Something that would sound whenever your child leaves his room? I know it's not an ideal solution, but it might be an acceptable temporary one.

I'm new here myself, so I'm not qualified to offer any advice. But I want you to know that someone (me) hears you and believes you.

What Is A "Family Team Decision Meeting"?

CPS has called a meeting tomorrow for family & any supportive community members. DS doesn't have his court-appointed attorney yet, so he's thinking of asking them to delay. Good decision, or bad? If he goes, he can have relatives & friends there for support / witnesses. What happens at these...

Re: Please Pray for My Kids Today

Thanks, Dazeemay & Linda. The local attorney who fights CPS wants more money than we can come up with out of pocket, and she doesn't accept payment plans. I appreciate your prayers.

DS & DIL in Shock

I've posted my story in the Newcomer section. The gist is: Grandchild taken from DS & DIL in the hospital, due to CPS involvement with DIL's first baby (different father). CPS bullied DS into showing them their home, which is under renovation. Drywall had been taken down for re-wiring, old carpe...

Re: Please Pray for My Kids Today

Thanks for your prayers, GWV. Turns out the hearing will be later this week. I suspect CPS will be loaded for bear. We have a lot of work ahead of us.

It's just started for us. My heart goes out to those of you who've been fighting this for months or years.

Hi, Angelheart83. I'm new here myself. I just wanted you to know that I've read your story, and I've prayed for you. So many stories on this forum, including yours, have really touched my heart. You sound like an excellent and conscientious mom. May God be your advocate and your defender as you deal...

A Story I Heard Yesterday

A little bird was trying to fly south for the winter. As the winds got colder, it got tireder and weaker, until finally its little wings were paralyzed with cold. It landed in a pasture, where it was slowly freezing to death. A cow came by and dropped a load of poop on the little bird. The poop was ...

Please Pray for My Kids Today

My "kids" are my DS & DIL, whose newborn was detained at the hospital over the weekend. Everything has been done wrong: DS & DIL weren't given the required paperwork, hospital procedure has not been followed, DS wasn't told he had the right to keep the CPS agent out of his house (a...

Re: Newbie -- Newborn Grandchild detained on Administrative

Thanks so much for your reply. The house needs a lot of work; it won't be a matter of just a day or two to get it into shape. For one thing, the previous owners had totally trashed it. DS is in the midst of tearing out drywall, etc. For another, DS was trying to pay for the materials as he went alon...

Re: Newbie -- Newborn Grandchild detained on Administrative

Oh, I need to vent about this... DS got agitated at the hospital Friday evening. No one was giving him any information or explaining the process to him and his DW. (He was not violent, not threatening, just upset and asking questions, such as which specific state law allowed them to keep his baby in...

Newbie -- Newborn Grandchild detained on Administrative Hold

Hello, I'm the mother of a young man whose baby didn't get to come home from the hospital this weekend. I'm afraid to give a lot of details, because I'm paranoid about CPS workers reading this forum. My DIL lost custody of her first baby to its biodad. CPS got involved because she was underage and i...
