February sixth is my daughters birthday too. She has just turned ten. She is the one with severe autism so we just had some cake and ice cream at grandmas house next door. We still live in fear that CPS will come to our door again. We know we are good parents. We got off lucky three times in a row w...

You need to request that your son be tested for Osteogenesis Imperfecta. O.I. is commonly called "Brittle Bone Disease" I just read a story in Reader's Digest about a couple whose baby had it and they went through hell and back getting their child out of foster care. Even after the O.I. was diagnose...

Do not ever think that you are safe from them because you have nothing to hide. Most of us here on this forum have nothing to hide either. I am not trying to scare you but there are mean , vindictive investigators out there and there are good ones. Who you get is really the luck of the draw. The mea...

Okay first make sure that your yard and home are in order. If and when CPS shows up you have the right to refuse them entry without a warrant. If you do let them in with out one they can report things like having a sink with 3-4 dirty dishes in it as a sink full of dirty dishes and a dirty kitchen. ...

My husband has had some health setbacks. Update on us.
I just wanted to let you all know that my husband kdddav has been experiencing some setbacks with his physical condition. For those that do not know, he is only 38 and he has SEVERE degenerative disk disease in his spine and has had difficulty walking for quite some time. He has chronic pain and has...

Believe me I have thought about homeschooling her. In fact I have thought about homeschooling her AND my twelve year old. My husband has been convinced that homeschool families in Florida have to submit to a home inspection to make sure there is a proper learning environment. I have not seen anythin...

Another update
My daughter, who is severely autistic and non verbal, refused to get on the bus for school earlier this year. For reasons unkown, she was afraid even though to the best of our knowledge nothing had ever happened on the bus to make her afraid. Her therapists at the school finally got her back on the ...

I personally do not see anything wrong with a single parent sharing a room with a same sex child. You did say that the girl has a seperate bed so it should be okay. I am married but if I was not you better believe that my twelve year old would be sharing my room. A single parent needs to do what the...

I think that the least we can do is TALK. Tell anyone who will listen. Talk about our experiences with CPS. Let people know that CPS is not completley alltruistic and that they will trample our constitutional rights all in the name of "saving families". Sure there are "good" CPS workers out there, b...

I would love to homeschool my special needs daughter but my husband and I disagree over the homeschooling laws in this state. He INSISTS that he saw a paper at the school board that states that the state has to investigate the home to check on the learning conditions. If this were true we all know w...

I think that some might be in a state of denial. I do know that women who are tall and /or overweight will not show as quickly as a woman of petite to average height and/or weight. or they might have "woman problems" that make it not unusuall for them not to menstruate for several monthes on end. Bu...

What's with these women who "don't know they are pregna
Last month I read another article on the internet about a woman who claimed that she did not know she was pregant. I do not get this at all. First of all , if the woman does not know she is pregnant she is not getting prenatal care and that is a giant red flag for CPS. In fact I was wondering if CPS...

kdddav'swife: My daughter attended a special ed school in another city at one time. Because her behavior was causing problems at school and on the bus, at the IEP we arranged for me to drive her to school and back, and be paid for it. I'm hoping you can get a mileage reimbursement... but that might ...

Okay here is mine.
kdddav and I are not currently being investigated BUT we ARE still doing battle with the youngest kids school. She is profoundly autistic and is nonverbal. Her tendencies , fears and behaviors can and will change seemingly without reason. This happened on the first day of school in August when she w...

Unfortunatley I really do not think that there is anything that you can do as far as going after the person who made the call to CPS. They are protected as far as that goes. I would love to sue the person who made false accusations of domestic violence and sexual abuse against my husband. Thankfully...

Great news ! I wish to God that we could move. We live in a 1400 square foot mobile home and due to the lousy floorplan we are overcrowded with four kids and two adults. When kdddav finally gets approved for his disability we are so outta this state. We will never be able to afford a home here with ...

Thanks. You know it was actually about 104 miles a day that I was driving her back and forth to school. 52 miles each way and I got authorized for shared expenses from the school board so that will come in handy. My oldest daughter ships out to join the Army on June 12, 2007. I will miss her and wil...

Update on my daughter.
Well some of you might remember that I posted last summer about what my daughters teacher was doing and saying about her so-called bad hygiene and dirty clothes. We had requested a mackay scholarship for her and were turned down. My daughter is SEVERELY autistic non verbal and has many behavioral is...
