Re: post traumatic stress disorder
CPS hates the diagnoses my husband got from our therapist. It say "stress-related depression to ACS involvement."

Re: Our Story
your only now harassing your lawyer? LOL Our poor lawyers are sick of us! Funny enough the judge offered us 1 of our kids home but we said no, to keep them together. I hope things keep improving for you guys! Would it make a difference if you guys separated? Yeah I know. We tried earlier but it did...

Re: Our Story
great news, what is their reason for not returning the kids though? We have several complicated reasons for why they won't return the kids. One we are having housing issues. Another is that we just recently got a new caseworker, who is trying to treat this case as if it is new to the system, and a ...

Re: Get to know your enemy!
Well I found this. It does have some links on it. I managed to find NY by googling the book listed. Not too sure if it will work for the other states.

Re: Our Story
WOW. Ok a little calmer now. but if this still seems a bit jumbled, well I'm just so excited. When she told me unsupervised, it was just about the last thing I heard. WE have worked so hard. Done everything they asked, didn't complain...too much. She is going to be there for pick up and drop o...

Re: ACS in trouble...Again.
More-In my opinion, ACS removes them anyway, except when they live in dangerous areas where the workers do not wish to go. The "panic" has been around since Nixmarry but still very vulnerable children die. The ones who aren't really at risk are removed. This syndrome will not end. LOL may...

ACS in trouble...Again.
I don't know if this has gone national, but this week 2 ACS caseworkers were charged with negligent homicide for failing to protect a child that was in dire need of protecting(while those us us who would never dream of doing what this mother did, suffer at the hands of ACS..but I digress). Does anyo...

this has been going on almost a year?? we're going into week 7 of our 2 being gone. I'm sorry to admit I pray for an easier time than you have had. And my Jewish kids are going to be celebrating Easter, I'm not happy but told not to make a stink We tried raising a stink about the Christian holidays...

Re: Our Story
In my humble lay opinion, you are running around in circles. If it were me, I would seek to sever the bounds with the older autistic child and seek to gain custody, not merely vsitiation with the youngest three. I will have to talk to the lawyer about that. My daughter has told us she does not want...

Re: Our Story
Well I found out what is going on and we had to get our lawyers to explain it to us. In court, this last time, the judge informed us that visits, amount and how supervised, was up to the agency and not her. Hence, "ACS sanctioned visitation" They or their agents decide, unless the judge sp...

Re: Torn | Confused | Despair
This is my opinion: There are two things I think would be adviseable for you to do right now. One, go ahead and get counceling. Get it before they demand it. Even though you do not have to sign a medical release form giving them access to your records, by them forcing counseling on you, you are more...

Update...i don't know what. Husband finally had his 1051a(it took so long for his because of weather and illnesses and other courts). His was the same as mine. A dirty house. We moved on to the permanency hearing, which was in another court room with another judge(they call her a referee here) Husba...

Re: Our Story
It sounds to me like they're coming up with new specious allegations to justify keeping your children. Be sure you write down your own reports. Make visitation reports to the caseworker on your observations and the events of the visits. In the letter tell the caseworker to respond in writing within...

Re: Our Story
I am so sorry for you and your husband, you are truly going through so much hell. Is there any way an attorney from AR can fight for jurisdiction? I know your husband's mother was very supportive, does she know any attys down that way who might be able to at least give you a consult? She was told s...

Re: Our Story
Okay i am not surer where this is going or how well this will turn out for us. Seems that the reasons behind the GAL's petition is to attack the foster agency and not punish the parents. Further there is a conflict between the foster mother and the foster agency. She hates the agency and is unwillin...

How?
I know a woman from Conn who's child is here, in New York, and can't get the case moved.

Re: Our Story
Ok I finally got internet back and am so mad. I was informed that if I did 1051a it would move the case away from the current judge and in front of a referee who was much more "family-friendly." Ok, so I ain't Martha Stewart. I can't keep a home spotless if my life depended on it. But that...

Re: Our Story
Did you get a continuation? When is the next court date? They're supposed to return the children to you but haven't set a date for that? No what we have is limbo. The ACS caseworker wasn't there. This was just a permanency hearing. one of 3(New York court system). We are in limbo. We need no more s...

Re: Our Story
UPDATE: Can I curse? I would love too. This is the most frustrating..... Our permanency hearing went like so. New ACS attorney, ACS case worker a no-show, and the 18 yr old is still on the case. Because the ACS lawyer is new, he had no answers. Because the ACS case worker wasn't there, no issues cou...

Re: Being investigated...their priorities are so strange
Sounds like you got a therapeutic caseworker. From what I understand(I am supposed to get one because of my teen's autism and possible bipolar issues. Does that mean I will have 2 caseworkers?) they are supposed to be more in tuned with disability cases. They are supposedly more trained and have a l...

I read the first page of this thread yesterday... I'm going to try to get through the second page today. My time is limited... really would like to catch up on everything. Take your time, its not going anywhere. When was your last court hearing? When will the next one be? My 1028 started July 27 an...
