Re: Home improvement projects offered and paid forby CPS

i'm saying take away anger management, counseling services, and parenting classes and replace them with these services.
As far as landlords they could be sued/jailed if they falsely call to get repairs.

Re: Home improvement projects offered and paid forby CPS

I have spoken to my kids about my ordeal and warned them about the dangers of getting too adult too soon. That being said i'm speaking of people who do not have anyone to support them. Also i'm speaking of replacing the current services to accurately reflect the needs. Then limiting the use of the n...

Re: Home improvement projects offered and paid forby CPS

I think your being unrealistic in your expectation of people being able to be ready. those coming out of foster care do not have the resources, stability, and financial backing to do what you are saying. plus having to deal with the abuse they suffered, if they were abused. No education most of the t...

Home improvement projects offered and paid forby CPS

I think social service should be required by law to offer home improvements and pay for them if the accused parent lives in a rundown house.
Some law would have to be in place so landlords wouldn't abuse this rule but anyway what do you guys think? Is this reasonable/realistic?

Re: Success of mentorship programs for actual drug abusers

Obviously this article is biased and i believe the real help comes from the financial stability of not being poor not that the foster parents actually teach them how to be good parents. Still this is the best option social services has come up with and should be offered to any family that is poor no...

Re: Success of mentorship programs for actual drug abusers

Re: Success of mentorship programs for actual drug abusers

Yes that's it. i watched a clip of it and i thought the program was brilliant. A real testament to what compassion and adequate help can do for the true drug abuser. Especially for the kids involved. This program went above and beyond. It truly made a difference for everybody.

Re: what if my house really is messy?

sometimes the church does a better job of helping then cps

the other side of the coin is sometimes the church is the one reporting . that is not christ like. especially if there is no abuse but the parents are just poor

Re: medicaid + food stamps + minimum wage + no college degre

mostly rhetorical but i find that this is the argument some people give for not helping. Not saying its these parents fault. i think if they had more support instead of criticism maybe they could get off medicaid foodstamps and get a degree and a better paying job. me personally i have some college ...

Re: Question from a new foster parent

My advice. first thanks for giving the mother a chance. Second it would be fair if both of you got a present. You and the natural parent. Sometimes the foster child really does love both if they are treated well by both. By doing this you are respecting everyone's rights to affection. Also you could ...

Re: Who Am I

glad you asked she was in a wheel chair and was paralyed and had to use crutches or a wheelchair. I know she could still make food. i'm sure taking the trash out and cleaning the floor were difficult tasks. Not impossible but difficult. It just took her more time to do every type of chore. plus she ...
