good dad, a question......does the immenent risk rule still apply if you have agreed to a safety plan? if you have agreed to a safety plan, and have not followed through can they remove the child without a court order because you concented to the safety plan?

i know when cps offered us a settlement prior to our hearing...our attorney was VERY clear in explaining to us that if we agreed to it, we WOULD be giving up our rights to a trail. im not sure about the whole appeal thing. did you attorney not explain what you would be giving up if you signed?

dependency court takes too long.......you can get resolution faster in traffic court. sad really. thats what took our case as long as it did. you have to wait 5-6 weeks between court hearings.

i had my first child at 23, second at 28, third at 29. im thirty now, and i STILL get alot of support from both my mother and my mother in law. :) there help is invaluable to me-and i thank god for it.

glad to hear that things are working out with your niece. they may be young, but hey we all start out that way and learn as we go. i have seen a 16 year old mother her child better that an adult, age dosent mean anything. give them all the support you can, they will be fine.

im sorry if my first post was harsh. All I know is that my children were taken from me....all three of them. and i never had, before or since laid a hand on them; let alone left any marks. i dont believe in hitting children, some people think spanking (without leaving marks) is acceptable punishment...

just a thought....but what kind of grandmother would make her grandchild go without her sleep apnea medicine? as for the birth certificate....they could have gone to vital statistics and gotten another one, no reason to fight over that one.

just a note....every time we went to court the judge ruled in our favor, with dcf fighting against us the whole time. thats why I would suggest biting the bullet and calling thier bluff.

im not sure where you at, but here in florida you can apply for childrens medicaid if you are gaurdian to the child. im assuming you are. just fill out the form and it should have a palce where you state that you are either the parent or the legal gaurdian.

also, and this is just my opinion of course.....if they ever show up on my door again, i would tell them to get a court order, even if they do, and your children are removed....i think you have a much better chance with a judge then you do dcf....just my opinion.
