Illinois is just as bad as other states. Because permanancy is rewarded they do all they can to adopt the children out which means they are much quicker to try TPR rather than admit that maybe they were wrong and the parents were good parents in the first place. We got very Lucky and had a bulldog a...

Be very careful!! New workers have a tendency to try and prove themselves to their supervisors.plus most of them dont know their a$$ from theior elbow anyway.Never volunteer info and especially be wary of any worker that has no children they tend to have glorified opinions of how children should be ...

that has got to be the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard. My husband and i have tattoos and we have never heard one negative thing about them.Tattoos are a form of self expression. Not harm. Sounds like your daughter is seeing a QUACK. If i was her i would tell DCFS that she will be finding her...

I truly feel now if my husband was abusive there is no way i would file a police report. Or go to a shelter. I have seen many times on this board where trying to help yourself out of a situation by calling the police or going to a shelter has backfired on these women because then DCFS/CPS gets invol...

Being proactive in some cases works but what about when CPS says the services you got werent good enough because they werent their courses or their therapists? what then? then you are forced to jump through their hoops which in our case led to more hoops and more hoops until we asserted our rights a...

very interesting
10. Changing financial incentives. While not a program per se, making this change spurs private child welfare agencies to come up with all sorts of innovations they previously had claimed were impossible. This is clear from the experience in Illinois. Until recently, Illinois reimbursed private chil...
