You are very welcome. That was kind of my thinking too, everyone sending in a msg...figure if we "bug" them enough maybe they'll do a story about it? I thought it was worth a try. I'm not real familiar with this guy, but his reputation is for taking on the tough stories, and not really caring who it...

Just a thought..
I recently saw the episode of Oprah where Anderson Cooper was on there doing a in depth "documentary" of poverty in the United States and tonight I went to his (cnn) website. Well on this page there is a link for you to send in something you would like investigated and I immediately thought of all t...

I understand your reluctance in getting the media involved and that is certainly your right. It just seems that the media isn't involved enough with things they really should be involved in..like me personally I could care less if Brittany Spears wears underwear...but I would want to hear about pare...

I understand now. You DID consent to the surgery and told everyone involved and they went ahead and went to court. That system is so ass backwards..I've seen bio parents who they have given AMPLE time to sign consent forms who flat out REFUSE and they got alot more time than you, and were notified o...

That's really awful. I had complied and made effort to consent and go with my daughter. Do you mean that you did actually consent to the surgery or you were going to and they changed the date on you and went to court without you? I don't understand the "made effort" part. And your lawyer not doing a...

I'm not sure what proceedings you mean, but we are encouraged strongly to attend any Family Support Team meeting in regards to our foster children. The reason why..since they are living with us at the time the whole "team" wants to hear from us about how the children are doing. I don't go to court h...

First off I want to apologize to all of you parents that have had bad experiences with foster parents. I am a foster parent and I believe because I proudly hold that title that I should be more accountable as a parent than anyone else. It sickens me that children who are removed from their families...

this family was probably told by the DCYF worker that there was "no way those children are going to be sent home to the mother".... I think this is one of the biggest problems between parents and foster parents. The workers do sometimes make the parents out to be monsters and until we meet the pare...

Speaking as a foster mom I think writing them a letter is a great idea. This job is hard, it doesn't take long at all to get attatched to these children, but I would be willing to bet that this foster family is happy the kids were able to return to their mother. That's where kids should be if at all...

If the goal is reunification, this goes against all odds, it does nothing to secure the parental-child bond. Not to mention creates more anxiety on both sides and turns it really into a negative thing. And the depression that sinks in, it's one of those bitter sweet experiences, yes you want to see...

I know every visit isn't the same but when my two foster sons visit their mom they are in a "family" room at DFS and there is someone in there with them while they play. Sometimes there is a therapist in the room or either the therapist or worker will stay in the room while the other is behind the g...

Because of my past and being a recovering addict he tried to test me for being under the influence after i told him i was in recovery and its been 3 years ago the last time i used any drug. Was there a reason you told him you were a recovering addict? Did that have something to do with the civil ma...

I doubt if the parents on this forum can help you with your needs It will BE the parents like the ones on these forums who are the MOST crucial part of CPS being put in their place. THEIR stories, THEIR heartache, THEIR injustice. The parents here, and the many more like them, are the most vital pa...

I address my posts to one person but they are written for all to read and hopefully respond to. We must quit hiding in the closet, put our keyboards aside, get better informed and get into the streets. It has worked very well for other oppressed minority groups and it will work now. I completely ag...

momomma, I just finished doing research to try and get a case reopened for someone who: 1. Wasn't in the care of her children 2. Was an out of state parent 3. Was given a caseplan and told she had to pay for it all out of her pocket (psych eval, drug testing, councelling etc..) State law says if it...

It is not an easy task. Some headway is being made by groups like this one. Some people in these groups are very very well informed and keep butting their head against the wall. I know your post was in response to Hope, but I had to say something about this part of it. I am one of the many who thin...

I have seen some Cases that were TPR'd far less than 15 months. Try 9 months. Imagine that? They are SO quick to TPR that parent within 6 months and never gave the Parent a Chance to finish their so called "forced Services". I could not believe that they would TPRd a Parent so early, but then again...

We've met with the foster parents that have our children. They seem very nice. I'm sure their in it for all the right reasons. Even the woman who supervises our visits is very kind and likable. We're not so naive as to think that we can fully trust them but who can you trust when you children have ...

What I am calling for is a unified front. Showing CPS that we recognize all problem areas and we want reform not because of a personal vendetta (i.e. you wanting your children back, me not wanting my foster sister returned to an abusive home) but because the system as a whole is flawed and as a res...
