Re: books to read
Thanks for the tip! By the way, does anyone know of any other current authors who have recently published on this topic? I work in a university library - a rather large one (3rd biggest in North America) and I'm on the lookout for new stuff - the real score would be an insider whistle-blowing from s...

Re: Trying to Follow the Money
Thanks for the information, Frustrated. I'll check the links later, but for the meantime, what you wrote fills me with dismay. Tot Avg Cost per child $42,200 that's just for One child Good grief, you could support a family of four for that much money. CPS abuses parents, children, and taxpayers. Wh...

Re: Question
Thanks Linda, I guess I was hoping to get her the therapy she needed if she does have AS. My friends daughter has had much therapy to help her get through school and to have a somewhat stable life, and Im afraid Amanda wont ever have that. Maybe with time she will mature and will show us all that i...

Re: Why does CPS.....?...? mind Boggling....
I'd suspect that CPS will indeed concentrate on "low hanging fruit" - what's easiest for them... if you consider this: in any city that has what would be considered a dangerous neighborhood (gang warfare, high drug use, etc.) by definition (of whatever their internal mandate is "suppo...

Re: so parents what are you gonna do about this whole mess?
I'm surprised more families haven't spoken out against it - but it seems many are traumatized, afraid to let people know they were accused of "child abuse" whether it was a valid claim or not. Those that get their kids back are afraid to speak out because they don't want their kids taken ...

Re: Opinion for GREENE V. CAMRETA, 06-35333
Here's my all time favorite quote in case law so far, published opinion for GREENE V. CAMRETA: http://www.ca9.uscourts.gov/datastore/opinions/2009/12/10/06-35333.pdf On the other hand, parents have an exceedingly strong interest in directing the upbringing of their children, as well as in protectin...

It's an awful confession to have to make. I commend this person for the guts to make it. What jumped right out at me was the method of screening families: (low income, low IQ....the vulnerability) I would love to see an overview chart of cases based on a socio-economic scale. (and I'm almost certain...

Re: OH MY GOODNESS!!
I'd like to make a comment here, if I may: (I was a stepdad once...came through it unscathed.) To me, the huge red flag in a case like this (and I'm VERY glad you were able to avoid it!) is what happened when you were confronted by the schoolteacher and the cop. They are coming from a classic assump...

on the road to find out
Hello all, I'm new here, and mighty glad to have arrived. Although I'm not directly going through what many who post here are, I'm nevertheless more than willing to participate, and offer whatever support and insight I can. I believe that we are altogether up against a monster of a beast not directl...

Geesh, im so sorry.....not a hormone call. A HOT LINE* call. One of these days I will learn to proof read before hitting submit. Thanks for the laugh................... (in amongst all the fear and loathing, a good laugh is good medicine, sometimes.) What are the California statutes for lawful entr...

Re: Endless fight.
The happy ending to your story is that you have your child back with you, and that he is safe and healthy. That is wonderful. What jumped out at me is this: You and your husband were guilty until proven innocent. And for your trouble - you were charged a "suspect" tax. (child support) .......

Hello, I'm not a professional legal consultant, so all I can offer is an opinion. I'd say the most important thing you need is legal advice. My gut reaction is, of course - be VERY wary of what cps has the power to do... Another gut reaction is this: In our society, 99% of child abuse of this nature...

My first piece of advice as a retired police officer: DO NOT TALK TO OR LET ANY CPS OR POLICE INTO YOUR HOME WITHOUT A WARRANT AND/OR LAWYER!!! No matter if you feel you have nothing to hide or that you are cooperating DON'T DO IT!!! They will twist anything you say or they see to make their case a...
