I've made a similar mistake

I'm so sorry your family is going through this for a simple mistake that any parent can make. I was lucky and realized my son got into an alcoholic drink right away. I called Poison Control and they assured me that he would be fine. I was, however, scared that PC would call police. It's not like alc...

I'd get a lawyer, first and foremost, but, a lawyer shouldn't cost you that much! I went looking for one near me (Michigan) and the higher end attorney wanted a $2500 retainer. From what my family has gone through, I don't trust anything the DHS says. It seem the more you cooperate, the more they ge...

If you give more information about why you have visitation only, you will get a lot more help. Good luck!

Feelings of hatered...

I go back and forth with my feelings. It ususally depends on what has most recently happend. I am a witch and what my beliefs tell me is to do no harm. I have certainly thought ugly thoughts, but I try to keep them in my head, not my heart. My feeling is that what is done to me will come back to tha...

What's an "Updated Service Plan?"

My husband and I are currently doing everything and then some with the initial service plan that our foster care worker gave us. Now she sends me an e-mail that we will be discussing an "updated" one. Should we be concerned? We have made her life difficult (give as good as you get!) and I'm wonderin...

Along the same subject: We just had a meeting with our Case Worker today in front of a neutral mediator. After we quoted her from previous meetings and had notes and dates from those meetings, she got her ass handed to her on a plate when she tried to deny what she said. I have e-mailed all news and...

He was at daycare, which I have since found out, can allow him to be interviewed without us knowing about it. My child made all kinds of claims against me and his father. I may not be able to know what his father did to him every minute of every day, but I sure know I did none of the things against ...

Once the child is in foster care, Medicade is supposed to pay for all dental, medical and psychological exams. Granted, the child has to be taken to a facility that accepts Medicade, but they should already have a list of acceptors.

With all I've learned both from this web site and on my own is get a lawyer FIRST! It may be nothing, but hindsight is 20/20. A "good" friend of mine lied to CPS and they took my son out without blinking. I don't know where you are in Michigan, but I'm in Michigan too and my county is AWFUL! Good lu...

The one thing I'd be careful of is that they may be trying to compile evidence against you. That's what they did to us after a mark on my child was "unfounded". Everytime he had a scrape or bruise, DHS would take a picture of it and file it away. Then, they called one day and said see you in court a...

Can I sue the DHS??

I have been floored by the outright lying and back peddling that the DHS have been doing during my case. When all has been cleared and I leave the county so they are unable to come after us, is there a way to sue them for false charges? I want to make them pay for all the grief they have brought on ...
