Character witnesses/letters of recommendation?

Would letters of recommendation/support/whatever be of ANY use to us in fighting CPS? What if we obtained such letters and had them added to our file? Here's the deal: we are poor (working class) without college degrees, but because of my involvement in my son's school and because of long term frien...

I have tried to warn people about lawyers who talk tough TO YOU, but turn into complete wimps when they get into court. I have talked to dozens of families where they say they have an attorney who will actually fight. Many are in the boat you described, where the attorney will brag themselves up to...

LOL.. the reason? Eff if I know. Probably has something to do with my GF admitting to having been sexually abused as a child. Either that or they are going to say it is to see how she is "dealing" with what happened in 2004 with her son and mine. So are you saying that if we get one on our own, CPS ...

My family was in a similar spot once. No court order for three weeks. When we told the agency people we knew that we COULD legally take the child home, they panicked and that's when the huge lie about me having a sex abuse history was instantly fabricated... to guarantee a court order. How about if...

Also, forgot to add, thought I posted this already but I guess not... when this all started and my GF demanded that they either A) return the child or B) give her a court appointed attorney, the response was that they didn't ahve to give her an attorney because they hadn't taken court action, and th...

your case doesnt make any sense to me. how can they say your fine to raise your other children, but not fit enough for the youngest. i would think that they should have returned the child to her mother, and set stipulations as to the father. this whole thing stinks. did you girl friend ever sign an...

Need a laugh? Sad but true.

Maybe you've heard this before. I found it on this page: http://www.ipt-forensics.com/journal/volume3/j3_4_7.htm James and Mary Seay of Jacksonville, Florida were visited by H.R.S. abuse investigators concerning an infant with black eyes whom they allegedly picked up by the neck and would confine in...

It is not the point what SHE is asking for... She wants to pin negative things in her report and that is her priority. I understand, and that's not what I meant.. sorry. There is currently some confusion as to whether or not she (CW) wants my GF to do a "psych eval" or something else. I wasn't ther...

"Okay.. how? LOL. " You need to find a competent civil rights attorney who deals with CPS abuse/ juvenile and family law. Ask this person how many cases won against CPS on the federal level. Present your case, he/she can subpeona all the case paperwork from the CPS agency, if there is any, and then...

Frustrated is right! Bottom line, CPS is using extortion tactics to force their will on you and your child. Being that they are a government entity, this is highly illegal. If they don't play ball with you, you take the game out of their playing field and change the referee's. Being that their isn'...

We're checking into the option of getting our own, as soon as we find out exactly WHAT she is asking for.

Would there be any reason, if we have to do CPS's, that we couldn't audiotape it ourselves?

Texas is a one-party state.

Hmmm.

That is a tough one, I believe the other members has more answers than I do. All I know is that she has to complete all the Services and the Child will be returned back to the Mother. But CPS are known to keep the child for some reason as it happened to other Parents as well. TPR usually happens al...

In order to get your Daughter back, is to get a Renuification Plan from CPS Agency. It involves that you have to do their Services of something and must complete them all, then Daughter will be returned back to you. For example: CPS asks Mother to take Counselling, then she has to complete all of C...

By my belief, that any removal of Children, CPS still require a Court Order for such removal. CPS needs to tell the Judge why it justify a removal. For example "Child is in need of Protection, he is in danger, removal suggested immediately, Father is a drunk and violent." That is just an example wh...

Go to Family Court and regain your Custody with your Child. The Judge will demand her to be returned back to you. You need to be prepared that she was (illegally placed) with a Relative without mother's knowledge, blah, blah...etc....etc...with Evidence/Paperworks. If the Mother STILL HAS Physical ...

it sounds to me like you all got sucked into agreeing to services, that why no court is involved. Well it seems like the common element in our case and in the OP's case is that CPS gets away with this by doing safety plans with OTHER people to circumvent US. We never agreed to anything in our origi...

if you had legal custody at the time, and they didnt remove the child, why didnt you just go pick her up from the relative? Because she was placed by Dad with his sister in another city at CPS's "insistence" and according to him, they said if he didn't make the "voluntary" placement they'd put him ...

Any help on "Voluntary" placement and the LAW?

I'm in Texas. Everything I've read only addresses when CPS *removes* your children. In our case they've circumvented EVERYTHING by claiming they never removed the child. They say that the Dad (she was at his house on a visit) "voluntarily" agreed to place her with a relative. Nevermind that mom (who...

I'm sure others will come along with great help and advice.

I just wanted to say welcome, and I'm sorry you're in the clutches of CPS.

I'm in Texas too, and your story sounds very familiar... the part about no court orders or anything. They have done the same to us.
