Well the deal is, they requested that my GF (the mother of the child in question) do the evaluation, but I was not there at the time so I'm not sure if they said a psych eval, or something else. She seems to recall they were asking for some sort of "assessment" to see if she needed counseling. The a...

Positioned to Fail?
Safety plan. Service plan. "verbal agreement". Whatever it is, it seems like it's geared to cause failure. In our case, I guess it's not much; 12 hours of parenting classes, "random and unannounced home visits" (whatever THAT means), and a psych eval. Oh, and we have to set up the supervised visitat...

Sheesh, my brother had a broken bone EVERY year for a three year stretch! They would have been all over my mom. It was dirt bikes, skateboards, and sports, and that's all. I was a "latchkey" kid from age 9 on. Home by myself from 3:30 or so until 5:30 when mom got home from work. Once I caught the m...

Unbelievable update
Check it out, y'all... I started this thread almost a year ago. This whole crazy situation just got worse and worse over the course of the year. Here's something rather chilling, what Steve_Naylor said back then: "CPS lie cheat and steal they will tell you anything to scare you from demanding your r...

Curious question, kind of a hijack, sorry.... does it do any good to move if it's just to another county? We're thinking about it, once we're finally free with case closed.. we'd like to get out in between before they suck us back in again. We don't have money to move out of state though, and really...

just had to dig this up
I know it's an older thread but this provided a much needed smile.. when my son (8) was being "interviewed" at school, I was lucky enough to have a trusted school employee sit in for it. She wrote down most of what took place. Several times my son responded to the CW with "I'm not really comfortable...

OMG, the clothes thing!?   My GF went through this a few years ago. She moved about six weeks before the end of the school year. So, her son went from a non-uniform school to a school requiring uniforms. She thrift shopped for about 3 full uniforms, couldn't afford more than th...

Psych Eval in Texas, please read
If you've already agreed to a psych eval, can you still get your own independent one done? How expensive is it? Is it allowed in Texas to go for your own? Not sure what the actual agreement with CPS says, if any. Attorney has all paperwork and we didn't get copies. After reading here, I'm not keen o...

update
Just the latest: My GF called the caseworker's supervisor yesterday and got voice mail but told her (on voice mail) that she was not comfortable dealing with this caseworker. That she felt she'd been lied to and "railroaded" by her, and wanted to speak to the supervisor. Well, the supervisor never c...

Just thinking out loud here some more... Is there ANY hope at all of getting our old caseworker assigned to the case, or at least having HER come do the home visit that this new caseworker is so gung-ho about doing? We don't trust anyone, but at least we know her.. and in all the time she was doing ...

Tell the case worker if child is not returned you are calling the police a reporting the child kidnapped. CPS is powerless without a court order. They will have to return ...

CPS cheaps out on this.Contracting with that lab to only use the drug screen..Only wanting to pay 20 dollars..Thinking you do not know the guidelines and won't push it So how do we "push" this? We spoke with the lab again today, and they said that while it is "standard" to do the GC/MS testing on a...

GC/MS testing breaks down everything to the molecular level....It can distinguish every molecule in the sample....be it a hair or urine sample. So yes it can tell the difference between meth and sudefed.... Here a hair follicle test costs about 90 dollars...which uses the GC/MS test method.. The u/...

Re: testing
Maybe you can go have a test done on yourself immediately. I don't know how much this costs, but just a suggestion so you could have your own records. Also, if you did a urine test with a strip indicator, I simply don't see how they could claim "sky high" or "low" or any level for that matter. It j...

UPDATE, OMG, it just got worse
I have about five seconds to respond so this will be brief. My GF talked to the CW today and asked her for a cause number pertaining to the removal of the child. She didn't have one. GF asked why. CW says because she wasn't removed by legal action. The father volunteered the removal to avoid legal a...
