I haven't been able to find anything other than that TN will enforce child support orders and they will go after the father. I haven't been able to find anything on child support while a child is in foster care. Social Worker? The DCS case manager? She said that it's not up to her it's between us an...

They are making things worse...

We just got slapped with a child support summons. Mind you according to everybody involved J will most likely be home by August on a trial home visit. Anyhow... I know as parents we are responsible for meeting J's needs. We do not argue that. We are already on food stamps and the kids are on Medicai...

I have no advice really... all I know is not to trust them. My son J has been gone 8 months now and they said it would only be 2 weeks. They now have him so messed up in the head and everything it's a nightmare when we get visitations. They allow him contact with his bio mom that caused the initial ...

I understand that... I made the mistake of letting the CPS worker and the detective know that I knew the law and they twisted it on me. That was before the attorney was included. My problem is that I am a smart mouth and I know it. I still remember when I let them in... (first mistake) They were "sh...

Ever since the day CPS stepped in to our lives my 2yo baby that has developmental delays and is a heart baby stopped talking. He is now 26.5 months old and has 5 regular words. At 16-18 months he was between 15-20 words. In fact, the delays didn't show up until CPS pulled their crap. If one doctor o...

Not dealt with PAS but my stepson that CPS stole from me is suspected of having Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD) J's assessment even said he has it but the Psychologist excused herself from diagnosing and said she would leave it to her colleague once family therapy starts. Which it won't unless he...

In Tennessee, (which I know the question is about IL) once a TPR is in effect the bio parent can have no contact with the child. They lose ALL rights. They can't send letters, can't call, can't check school records or doctor records, nothing. The exchange is the bio parent no longer is accountable f...

hehe... kids should know the truth yep... they should. Sad thing there is in a case like mine my girls smart off to the CM in defense of me. That is why we are under scrutiny... it's not because we are abusing the kids it's because my kids stand up for what they believe is right. Which my two girls ...

I know here if we attempt to sue or anything along those lines that it will be harder on us. Legally we can't leave until feb 09, statue of limitations is 2 years from the time of the incident. (From what I can find) Honestly with us, once things are done and DCS/CPS is gone, so be it. I am done wit...

I agree completely. I have two that all I gotta do is look at them sternly and they will act as if I beat them within an inch of their live. Then I have two that it wouldn't matter is they were almost dead from a whoopin, they would still smart off and misbehaving. Then there are two that a spanking...

The person doing teh assessment is one of DCS's goons. We can't pay for the assessment and it is court ordered in teh case involving my stepson. We have fully cooperated this whole time with DCS and it ahs done nothing but hurt. Now my step son is telling me that the foster mom told him I hit him al...

So, what we have been told by others online and off is that doing the clinical assessment can actually open the door for them to take the rest of the kids... Is this correct? I need to know ASAP. DH has already contacted the lawyer on an emergency need. I won't let them take the rest of my kids.

From what I understand of the law the corporal punishment loophole is only if the child is over 6. J was 4 at the time. So if you spank a child under 6 in TN you are committing child abuse. Tragic thing is that 85% of people I inform the law look at me as if I grew an extra eye or something. Even pe...

It's in the guilty of rules and discipline thread... Essentially I did not know it was illegal to spank. They only took my step son. We still have his full blooded sister and my 4 bio children. I was wrong in spanking my stepson on the bottom and leaving a bruise. I was wrong, admitted I was wrong a...

With my son, the assessment was done with the Doctor we wanted. Our insurance paid for it. With mine and DH's assessments, the insurance will not cover the assessements because they are court ordered and it will put their doctor in a bind. I said but it's a court order and they said that the court o...

Spanking is actually illegal in most states of the US if the law is misconstrued. In teh state of Tennessee if you spank a child under 6 with anything other than your hand you are guilty of aggravated child abuse. Does not matter if you leave a mark and it does not matter where you spank them. This ...

I know here it doesn't appear to be that there are checks and balances for CPS and DCS. They do what they want to do and then get slapped on the hand later on. TN's DCS/CPS was in senate hearings this past week and they got chewed out and were let know that the committing wasn't happy, but overall I...
