If the adoption is final meaning all papers signed and judge gave approval then it is as if your sister gave birth to him and you can no longer appeal. You only have the time from when the TPR goes through to the adoption goes through to do the appeal. Sorry your going through this though it has to ...

See that is why I would ask the irs not the social worker. Since your providing them with most things not them it might be different. Usually like for divorce situations it has to either be in a court order that the ncp can claim them or it is whoever has them more than half the year. Seriously call...

Momoffor that was exactly what I was thinking there was probably just as much hight between a crib with the rail down as there would be with a bassenett. There were other things in it that were just as simular nothing was dangerous. Infact years ago fifty something years ago when my aunt was born my...

I don't understand why the worker is so intent on getting in there. Any of the workers who ever came out were more intrested in my kids rooms They basically just peaked in there on the walk through and that was it. They didn't even enter the threshold just looked in and went on to the kids rooms. Th...

A while back I read some of Nancy's legal papers and court reports that she let me. The justifications they used to take the baby or shall I say keep the baby were common mistakes of a first time mother or just totally out there. Reading it I found myself thinking "I've done that" "what is wrong wit...

That was how I got cps. The psych eval from the shrink they sent me to had a report that was vastly different from the one from that I had done with the place my daughter had therapy at for over a year and 1/2. So much of a difference they had to throw out the result from the one they did. I also ha...

Usually when a mother has their rights terminated to one child they don't let them have any future kids they might give birth to. They also try to place the siblings together so they would try to place your niece with her sister first. It will be harder to gain custody if the child is placed with th...

this is one topic that makes no sense to me. US law is that a mother can abort her fetus at any point in the pregnancy. Most state the max time put on this is 24-26 weeks but a doctor that can do this later can be found it is just harder. So if mothers can basically "kill" the fetus how can they be ...

I understand talking to lawyers and being told your not the typical family involved with cps. I too have a bachlors degree, higher than average IQ, Stay home with my kids, don't do drugs or drink and so forth. CPS doesn't just target the "poor" they target the "poor enough" those who can't pay $25,0...

yep that is exactly it they can see things in any number of places that we as children did not have access to or just weren't around. In fact Momoffor I had a simular experience. School called for my daughters latest attention fest telling me that she was trying to cut herself with of all things a p...

The origional lawyer I had on my case did nothing. Charged a $1500 retainer then never showed up and charged us more because of the phone calls he made due to not showing up at court. Seriously the man pissed away $1500 on phone calls and charged another 300 on the final bill he sent us because he s...

Re: Just something I thought was funny
There is only a few things holding up my case. 1. They have to determine if an 8 year old can lie. Double murder case in Arizona. 8 Year old child shot his father and the fathers roommate then LIED and said someone else did and he stumbled in on it. Later, confessed to doing it. (If it was coached ...

My 2 year old when i ask "did you do that?" will say no when I saw him do it. 8 yr olds come up with some whoppers! UMmm mykids have chores too and when...

I wen't through this as well from a girl who called on her own brother.... repeatedly never to have an actual case come from it. What I suggest is to carry a recorder on you at all times when she does open her mouth take it out and record. Also when you get confirmation from cps they aren't opening ...

Sadly I find this statement to be true. Emotional abuse is a title they stick on a case when they don't have anything else ..why ... it can't be proven or disproven. Also we too are a single income family. The socail worker flat out told my daughter 12 at the time she didn't like coming to the house...

momoffor is correct it is a catch 22 from the moment they come to your door your guilty even if you arent sometimes the best and quickest way to get through this is to just jump the hoops and make them go away. 1) you have the right to have the psych eval done by a person of your choosing even if they are paying for it!! don't go to one of thier choosing. They usually do a hatchet job for cps. 2) find somebody in your area that had one done there and see what thier opinion of that evaluator is. * remember ...
