CPS case worker admits stealing gift cards meant for needy children
http://www.woai.com/news/local/story/CP ... WhgKQ.cspx

Spokeswoman for cps says,"" it is something CPS does not and will not tolerate".

Hmmmmm! They have stole billions from taxpayers and can't tolerate a measly $650.00.

Yes, the caseworker should be prosecuted because she stole but, billions and nobody in government does anything about it!!!

Here is another one from December out here in Los Angeles: http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/story?secti ... id=7819813

What he did is sick enough, extorting sexual behavior by threatening child removal. So it was all over the news and he supposedly had court in january and I wanted to go to the courthouse and see what happened to him. I cannot find anything on the news. I'd really like to know if he was sentenced or not and if the child / mother suffered any more repercussions from dcfs. I'd like to contact the mother and warn her that things may be good now, but they'll come back.

Monkette, it appears that on April 6, the LA County Civil Service Commission heard Lorghab's petition for a hearing on his discharge. This information appeared on a Google search. The link was http://civilservice.lacountycommissions.info/agenda.pdf , but when I clicked it, the page had updated to the April 13 agenda. The approved minutes for April 6 are not online yet but they should show up eventually at http://search.co.la.ca.us/boscom/script ... sions.info .

It might be an interesting link to check back regularly if you're in California. Who knows, you might see the name of a social worker you know. Every week it lists caseworkers and other department employees who are appealing their dismissals, along with the relevant case numbers.

Of course, the information at this site has to do only with civil service employment. It doesn't contain any information about criminal trials. Since I can't find an update on Lorghab's trial, I assume it hasn't taken place yet.

There should be a mechanism in place for people to file complaints against caseworkers. I understand that the state would rather not do that, figuring that evey person with CPS involvement would file a complaint. But what about the legitimate complaints? Here are posts regarding CPS workers that committed serious crimes. What about the others? The worker assigned to my case falsified paperwork. That will be more than apparent at my fair hearing. My lawyer has that covered. We can prove she falsified paperwork. But at the end of the day, what will happen to her? I guarantee you there will be no consequences for her and she will go back to work and keep doing her thing. Falsifying paperwork is against state and federal law, the very laws that her agency is supposed to abide by. This agency has no system of checks and balances. It needs serious reform. These people run amok and do whatever they want because they have no accountability and no one can touch them. The very system is set up that way.

My caseworker was essentially an "errand boy" for an abusive teacher I complained about at my child's school. The corruption in CPS must be brought to the attention of everyone so it will be stopped.

Washington: Three foster children sued CPS and won 7.3 million dollars

Physical abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, and exploitation – in a foster home!

We’re not surprised.

Three children in Washington state were granted 7.3 million dollars in a lawsuit settlement by the Washington Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS). CPS social workers in Washington placed the children in the home of Enrique Fabregas, a foster “parent” with a long history of arrests, criminal convictions, and drug abuse. Their excuse was that he had lied on his application. In other words, in their haste to get kids into a foster home and start drawing in federal income streams for three foster children, they didn’t bother to do a criminal background check. Or if they did, they just didn’t care enough about the children to protect them from him.

Between 1996 and 2006 the Department of Social Services received at least 28 complaints from the three girls – alleging everything – including sexual abuse. But did Washington CPS social workers do anything to help these children? NO… not for ten years! … until 2006 when the foster “parent” was charged with three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and possession of child pornography.

CPS social workers in Washington state made life a horrible nightmare for these three girls, and for ten years managed to turn their backs and ignore their cries for help. That’s a lot of child neglect, and the social workers and CPS caseworkers involved should be prosecuted and imprisoned, not just fined!

There are criminals in every occupation and on the welfare roles. No differant here. It does not speak for an occupation.
