Chattanooga Police Child Abuse Investigators are actively searching for two people who are wanted for custodial interference. Warrants were issued on Thursday for April Dawn Smith and Cecil Wright on charges of custodial interference when they refused to return their
child, 2 year-old Cody Wright, back to the custody of Children’s Protective Services.
The child was taken from Wright and Ms. Smith and placed in protective custody of Children’s Protective Services on original complaints of drug abuse and neglect.
Police said they believe Smith and Ms. Wright are together and driving a newer model white work van. The
tag number is unknown. If anyone knows the whereabouts of these two, they are asked to call the Chattanooga Police Department
at 698-2525.
