what the hell?? we never got official "letter" !

this is an update - my background is explained in "tricked" - someone got a bit snarky, so i started a new thread - hope that's okay.....

so, i signed their stupid "voluntary safety plan" and agreed to six months of "monitoring" - fyi - we, luckily, didn't have our baby taken into custody - so we met our new sw Friday, and she kept asking us if we were "willing to go along" w/the whole thing. i was a bit dumb founded, as, the orignal sw new full well that i "objected" to much of her report, and this new one, *should* have read my four pages of "objections" attached to the stupid case file. anyway - so she started her visit that way, and i was like, "well, we signed the bloody thing, so we're obviously willing to go along w/this." she kept on asking, so we finally admitted that, yea, we had problems etc, but we agreed to it because it seemed the safest way to proceed and the quickest way to get rid of them. i told her that i had detailed my objections in my amendment that should have been attached to the file. she responded by saying that, once a plan was written, that it "self populates" from there. i asked her to clarify her point, and she basically said that everything i objected to would remain there, and, i guess, get "reprinted" w/all of the future reports because they are basically lazy asses and will just be adding to the original file. so, whatever. i would let that go. but then she said that the proper time, or the only effective time to raise such objections, would have been at the TDM. i said, well, we *would* have raised these issues at that time, but, stupid, ignorant, trusting people that we were, we didn't even realize what was going on until AFTER the TDM. basically, the TDM was on a Friday, and over the weekend it dawned on us that this wasn't going away, that there were allegations against us, that we, or I, had provided them w/all of the "proof" they needed to substantiate these allegations (not by my behavior, but by simply telling them that i had relapsed for a period after the baby's birth), and that this wasn't going away any time soon. it wasn't until that next Monday that i had to ask our orignal sw directly "what am I being accused of?" to which she FINALLY told me "absent and incapacitated caregiver." -- that whole time we thought they were just there to "check things out" and "help" us, etc. we didn't realize, until it was way too late, that there were these "add on" allegations which they were building a case for. okay. whatever. lesson learned; i've berated myself enough about all of that,BUT then she tells us, this new sw tells us, that we were supposed to have gotten a LETTER describing the allegations and detailing the steps necessary to "object." of course, this letter THAT WE NEVER GOT would have needed to have been responded to, by us, w/in a certain time frame.....this is all very convenient for THEM. so does anyone know what this letter is? and who can i complain to about the fact that we NEVER received such a letter??????? additionally, before signing it, i had called our original cw's supervisor, basically telling him WHY i didin't want to sign the thing, because i had never neglected my son in any way, but i was willing to do everything they wanted me to, and he really didn't listen to me, pretty much interrupted me, and just kept saying "just sign the papers; this isn't criminal; it's not being reported anywhere; just sign them, and your sw can come by right now and pick them up." but then this new sw said that in fact these papers WOULD interfere with my future options; e.g., if i wanted to work w/children etc. this directly conflicts w/what my orignal sw's supervisor told me that day. does anyone know the name of this "letter" that we never got? this letter was supposed to have outlined the allegations, the findings, and detailed the steps necessary to fight them. and as i said, there would have been a time limit within which we would have needed to respond. i don't understand why such a letter wasn't sent "return receipt requested." how can we even prove that we never received it? additionally, i had already wanted to file a complaint against the original sw and her supervisor, and i think the fact she didn't get this letter to us gives me solid ground to do so, and i also wanted to file a complaint against her supervisor, and if he lied to me, telling me that signing those documents would not interfere w/any future ambitions of working w/children, then i think that would be adequate grounds to do so as well.

finally, we have a sign printed on our door, saying we are protected by the constitution etc, and anyone in the house may be recorded or video taped etc. with this new sw, we began the meeting on video tape, but seeing the camera, she asked if she was being recorded and said that if we continued to do so, she would have to leave. is this right? aren't we allowed to video someone in our own home?

i know this is convoluted and detailed. i appreciate anyone who has any input! thank you in advance for your help -

You are allowed to video. And they are allowed to walk out. I'd say:

1) Conceal the camera if you can, and lie that you're not filming. OR
2) Film, let them leave, and let a judge tell them it's your right to film in your own house, and watch them come back crying. OR
3) Don't film, but write everything down, and send it to them to see if they object. This has pretty-much the same legal force as a video tape. OR
4) Audio-tape it, and hide the recorder.

thank you DanZ - i will conceal the video camera next time. i tried to write everything down, but it's impossible to be "present" and write everything at the same time.

do you know what this letter is that we never got? i'd like to use the fact that we never received it as the basis for my complaint against the original sw, but not knowing the terminology weakens my stand....

and the new sw was supposed to contact use today re: the likely "misinformation" i was given by the orignal sw's supervisor, and she never did. i guess i'll call the new sw tomorrow. i'd like to call either the original sw or her supervisor and ask them, but i get the feeling they have washed their hands of me, as they had both gone from polite to rude as our case progressed.

shoot, druisi, i know where you are at, they are snakes and I hate to tell you I told you so....i think you've gone this far and they will push you with what they can get. Finish your caseplan and get the hell outof the system....even when you do, they will come back, probably get you a few years, but they'll be back. I'ts cause their office is ran by non americans, friggin socialist pigs with accents who gave them good jobs to do this to us. These snakes need their heads chopped off. Just do your caseplan, smile at them and get on with your lives....trust me, none of these supervisors were even born in America....

God I hate this system and I hate them, little shits that they are. Well, I guess you're stuck with this crap now, I think it can be over with soon, jjust do the caseplan and forget about them, but remember to never trust them. there is one there that i trust that you would like, Gina Papa, shes a social worrker that has the same lifestyle as us...i hope you have her as a social worker, her boss is a freak liposuction lady...well, write me at my email.
