Clarification on something

Long story short. School principal and counselor coached my oldest to lie about things,DFCS kidnapped kids on September 29th. We have unsupervised visits but I am not sure what that means other than no state kidnapping worker is present when we see kids at DFCS office. Can we take them to McDonalds or to the park etc? I just emailed our lawyer but he is busy as hell and just keeps saying do the stupid case plan which we have either done it all or are in process of finishing things up...got court on 12th of November again for update etc We have our own place now,are on meds for tempers etc,are in parenting classes and in fact were IN the classes 2 weeks before they requested it in their little case plan crap. They are as usual dragging their feet on getting their BS pysch evals of us done and we haven't even seen anyone for it yet, this is AFTER the idiot case worker taking a week to supposedly get the doctor we went to,to send the report to her and I told her to just make the damn appts herself for us so we can get them done BEFORE we return to court. Fortunately kids are with my brother and his wife and fairly close to where we live so we see them pretty much when we want but they want to come home and I am frankly starting to get pissed with these incompetent low iq assholes. Lawyer is court appointed and fortunately sees through DFCS lies and says this is the fastest he has seen any parents go from supervised visits to unsupervised and judge gave THEM the right to go to overnights whenever they felt it was best. We won't be in our own place until around 10th of November so obviously no overnights yet. Either way wanted to vent and ask about the unsupervised visit thing. Because last Friday the state kidnapping worker said she saw no problem with us taking kids to the halloween party on Friday at wife's work but now says either my brother or his wife would have to be there...I am sure they have better things to do than do that....

I wouldn't take the children out of the DCF visiting office unless you have something in writing by them stating that they have given you their consent to do so. That way there is no he said she said and no room for misunderstanding or for negative consequences for your having done so after the fact.

CPS is known for retaliation if you don't play along with their game. Sounds like you have a great chance of getting through this with less damage than most. Be careful with them, they DO retaliate.

If you're getting "unsupervised" visits and are soon to get overnights, the case is progressing in the right direction. Have patience with the process. There is reason to think you will be getting your children returned to you, and you don't want to upset the apple cart before that can happen.

So, how did Halloween go?

Sorry taken so long to reply. Still don't have kids back. Had court 12th of November same ole crap especially with the lousy court appointed lawyer, right after that we got unsupervised visits and things were going fine until I kicked my sister out of the home 3 days before court in December. They (mother, father, sister, brother, sister in law) etc managed to fake some texts and sent them to DFCS worker and CASA dude who was going to recommend kids come home but now we are back to visits at CASA office and the incompetent DFCS worker refuses to do her job and even tell the CASA people why we are there. We live in a different county from where all this started. We had kids for 5 hours on Christmas and we were told after Christmas we would have visits back to normal but she is lying still and refuses to tell us when visits are supposed to be so we are on verge of firing our lawyer and asking for a return to court sooner than we are supposed to return which is February 4th. They sent some biased "counselor" to our home to do an assessment and since I was to honest she refused to even use my scores and says me and the wife need to do DV counseling. There has been no DV in over 5 years and it was a 1 time thing. So dealing with that run around BS. Will be done with Parenting classes in early February but when I asked lawyer if we will get kids back in February he said it would be close...aka he is working with DFCS and we will get them back in March because the 6 month review is March 29th and since we live in a different county they would either have to have this county open a case or transfer current case which they know is full of a ton of holes....because I am assuming once we get kids back and we no longer live in that county they have to close case within 30 days. That's way its worked before. We are calling REAL lawyers as we speak and probably can't afford one right now but will come February if we don't get kids back at that hearing since we will have income tax by then.

Sometimes absolute honesty is not the best policy with these people. You need to spin the facts in a way your adversaries want to hear. You should say you share their concerns about DV, and that you have learned ways to prevent it again. Don't say that you think this whole case is a bunch of bunk.
