Question,

Is it common for the parent to have to pay for the supervised visit?

When the visitation is held at a "visitation center."

It cost me $10 or $15 an hour back in 1993.

Wow, I didn't know you have to pay for that. But I have heard about it though from my Lawyer saying sometimes you would have to pay a nonimal fee for having all of that to happen...most Supervised Visitation would take at CPS Office/Agency.

And the hours sucked...most would get one hour per week, some two hours per week, and some lucky ones would get 4 to 5 hours per week, but very few.

I don't think how can you have one hour per week if the bonding with Foster Parents had already occured? They would always "claim" BONDING...gosh I hate that word because it is not right for Foster Parents to create Bonds with Children and get them so attached, that caused them to forget their natural parents? and they were promised a whole list of stuff like ...horses?

I had one Foster Child, 13 yrs old Girl, she comes here visiting her real Mom and she said that her Foster Mom promised her a Horse that she can keep then she would have to stay there and forget about her Mom. The Same Foster Girl that I have known for almost 8 years comes over to my house often and would tell me stories about her experiences in Foster Care. She still visits her Mom regardless, but she wants her Foster Mom to keep the promise of getting her a Horse. And yet this Poor Girl, 13, was unsupervised and went out with a 40 yrs old Man, and went to Parties, and smoked Pot...and had unprotected Sex...this was only 13 yrs old and Foster Mom was not watching closely. I don't know if she was babbling and telling fable stories to make it look "good" but I have caught her smoking cigs at one time at the back yard of my home, and I told her and shook my head, nooooo...She is turning 14. She used to be cute, really good Girl and once she went to Foster Care, then she is all ruined, just like damaged goods. I feel so bad for this Girl because she has potential for her Future.

Can you believe that? That's extortion.

 70 bucks?! for 2 hours visits?

O MY God! NO wonder they want money...who gets the 70 bucks? I wonder? The Watchers, or CPS Agency themselves? or the Case worker?

Just think about it, adding all the costs with other Families, LOTS OF MONEY to be made!

If you add up 10 Families with Supervised Visit, just for 2 hours Visit....

$700 bucks alone...!!! for 2 hours visits alone per day.

Imagine 5 days a week?

Ching, ching!!!

BUT that is only for Supervised Visits, what about other Services, and yadda, yadda??? Foster Care, Counselling, Therapy, Drug Testing, Psch. Eval???????????

Thousands of Dollars, I bet...more than that!

Can't the CPS agency you are dealing with provide a worker to do supervised visits out in the community somewhere? When we were going through all that with visitations, we had 3 supervised visits at DCF office then the visits changed location to a local restaraunt and/or park depending on the weather. After a small amount of time, we then had unsupervised visits out in the community.

Congrats for Partner to see his Child, well, 70 bucks per hour is still expensive. That's more money that I get Gas in my Car in a Week.

No wonder they are money grubbers today adovocating Services, and such thing to make money.

In fact I think it would be cheaper to have some body like a Relative to watch such thing and it is Free. Supervised Visitations should be reserved for the ones that are "Dangerous" to the Children, or a danger to other Parent, or a danger to himself, or whatever. It should not be reserved for the ones that are not a danger or never abused Children before. CPS just want to claim non-proven Abuse and make it claim that they are a "danger" to the Children or whatnots. Such as Drug Abuse, Alcoholism, or Sexual Abuse should be in the Catergories for Such Supervised Visits.

Just my opinion. I don't think it should be for the ones that never abused their Children. It saddened me to know that the Children were victimized and they had to go through unnecessary intrusion like this one and they were never abused? It is part of all the suffering in each Family and we all go through and experienced this before.

Just more proof of the industry that CPS has set up. Let's spread the wealth.

They also do visit supervision when there
is absolutely no reason for it to be supervised.
This is a huge waste of taxpayer money.

Many if not most cases should be having
UNSUPERVISED visitation.

The contractors are part of the
complex that is the Child Protection INDUSTRY.
