Has a Cps worker ever said this to anyone else out there?
Our caseworker told us that we would have a better chance at getting my daughter back if we were drugusers or alcoholics?!!!!?! What she said was outright unbelieaveable!! Has anyone elses worker ever said something like this?
hi
Don't do what? We don't drink or use drugs at all. I was just wondering if anyone else has had a caseworker say such an awful thing to them?... Thats what all the workers are like around my town anyways. About 70% of people where I live have been involved with Cps. I don't know one person with kids here who hasn't been tortured by Cps and yet everyday we see kids being abused and hear of ppl calling Cps on the people who actually do treat kids wrong and nothing ever gets done about it. Sorry I just feel like venting about Cps. I miss my daughter so much and this is truly the hardest stuff ever for a person to go through.
I've never heard of a caseworker saying that it would be easier
or quicker if you were druggies or alcoholics, but I have
heard it from attorneys.
Apparently if a parent or set of parents IS alcoholic or druggie
the whole process IS simpler, partly because parents
caught with a bad drug test are "owned" in a sense by
the agency and tend to be submissive complaint cooperators.
The "cookie cutter" Service Plans are already written,
they go until the drug tests are all clean and
then set up the parents to be screened for another
whole year or something.
Then the caseworkers and agency can be all self rightious
about how they saved them.
They even get huge grant moneys for programs
like Moms off Meth, and instead of fast tracking for TPR
they go easy and make them go through the
drug program.
They write up any success stories and score
big PR points this way and get more FUNDING!
If the same parents had gotten dragged into
a CPS case over spanking, and resisted or
challenged the basis, they could easily be dragged
into more and more of a case, even TPR'd.
Ricky Holland in Michigan was killed by a Foster/Adopter
who smacked him in the skull with a claw hammer.
His father was in prison and his bio Mother
was having homelessness problems and
asked for help, but CPS adopted ricky out.
Poverty is not supposed to be a reason to
remove children. Tell it to Ricky.

Mind I ask what was the original allegation? I assume you are in the reunification process. You should be in good standing if the condition in the original allegations improved or no longer exist.
Sorry, I've never heard anyone said that to their clients before.
However, I've heard that from one worker to another worker. The reason is this...She has a client who are reentering the system for the second time under the same allegation. The client first enter the system because of domestic violence. The parents took some DV classes, anger management, and counseling. They reunited with the children afterward. Now the family is back into the system for the same reason. It will be harder to reunite the family if the kids are PC'ed. BUT if the allegation is something else this time, the family will have a better chance to be reunited because this is not a recurring "problem."
Hope that make sense

In my parenting therapy group funded by CPS the therapist and housing specialist said it was easier to get kids back and to get help with housing if parent(s) are drug addicts. This is because there are so many programs out there that will help. CPS puts these parents on a track in which parents complete or fail at- get kids back or lose them. It is very cut and dried and easy for SW to monitor progress and they like it this way...
I almost wish I was a meth head! A couple in my group got a 3 bedroom house for $300.00- Market price would have been 1900.00 to 2300.00! It's so expensive to live here but I love it... None the less am leaving state ASAP.

I wasnt told that but I was told they could do more if my ex husband or I were ignorant because we wouldnt know what they were doing. I understand or know why they say if youre an alcoholic or drug addict itd be easier, and thats bc their supposed to be for reunification. If you were an addict they could send you to a program and drug test you and be done with it. Anything else t hey actually have to prove.

My guess this is just a Fishing Expidition just to make you say something to that Fact that you are A) Drug user or B) Alcoholic....
They would say anything absolute ridiculous just to make Parents trip up something and tell their Stories. Just a brilliant questioning on People as CIA AND FBI had used the same tools to make the Person mad or something.
I have had Case worker telling me that Spanking is OKAY and she wanted me to say back to her to "acknowledge" that fact yes I do use that. Same as they would for you to make you "acknowledge" that fact. Yes I have heard it before, but different wordings and different ways.
Best thing you can do is not to say anything to that fact. Don't say anything to make her happy so she can put it in her Report that in fact you "are". Let your Lawyers handle it.

It is easy to steal from poor people. But don't do it. And don't take advantage of those poor people in court. The Lord is on their side. He supports them and he will take things away from any person that takes from them.~ Proverbs 22:22
