Sorry. I'm feeling very defensive these days.

I just joined and posted this thread:

I also posted it under the Georgia forum.

I am a mother of three children going through a real nightmare because I refuse to allow the school system to abuse my 8YO autistic son.

Here's some background on my "neglected son"

What a little CUTIE!!!! I couldn't get enough of him! I can tell you're very proud of him and you have good reason to be proud. It appears you spend a lot of time with him and you have only his best interests at heart.

Let me guess, you know more about geography then you ever thought you would? I'll bet he's been very instrumental in your own learning! Everything sounds so wonderful!

Stand strong, gather your evidence and kick the school, CPS and the courts butt! You appear to have a lot of evidence to back up everything you're saying.

Good luck! Your son seems absolutely wonderful! Thank you for sharing this personal part of him.

I posted about guardianship in the cps investigation forum while you are duking it out with them.

OMG! Your son is handsome and very gifted.

You definitely need to stop these thugs from taking your children.

In seventh grade my youngest daughter tested out to be doing senior high school and freshman college work but could not function in the classroom.

The teacher encouraged us to homeschool her because the school system would continue to ruin her somewhat normal life. We did this and were thankful we did and thankful for the teachers advise.

Today I do not believe we would have fared so well with her.

Eienstein would not be Eienstein with today's unscrupulous knowledge that these people seem to claim they have.

You are to be commended for your love and dedication to your son and your other children.

I have a daughter (not the same one I just wrote about) who is a DVM now and has told us she is thankful we did not allow her to be in the gifted programs in school. We felt she needed to develop her social skills and we felt the gifted program would alienate her from her peers and her family.

We often had to tell her she needed to go and play with the other children for one half hour before she could read a book. We had to constantly deal with her anti socialism and today she is grateful that we did this. But, had we gone along with the school I believe she would be a very abrupt and rude person and she feels the same way.

Sissi,
You have an awesome and talented son. You should be praised as well as him instead of being put through these horrors. I will pray for you and your family.

i am right there with you - i am so sick of being insulted - even tho they (CPS) claim they are "not accusing" me, nor "insinuating anything". so, then, what are they doing by calling me away from work to talk to them and the police officer at my son's school? what do they call that? i know what I personally call it, but can't write that here. ;)

school officials, etc., tend to get a bit testy when you tell them to "butt out!" -- especially single parents, i find, get the worst of it (maybe that's because i am one i see it that way).

you are to be commended for your dedication to your child(ren).

What a neat Kid!

You sure do have your hands full, with the school that is.

In TX they have Spec. ED Student advocates who take your complaints to the school board. This may be an option you can try. I ended up home schooling my youngest, he has mild CP, because he was in 7th grade and was only on a 4th gr reading level and could not even do multiplication, YET he was an honor student!

Go figure :?

He ended up teaching me trig and calculus! and is now in college studing Chemical Engineering with a 3.8 GPA!

You are one great Mom
