finally unsupervised visit after two yrs

Postby treytrey1 » Thu Aug 30, 2012 10:40 am

We are getting our first unsupervised visit after actually 3 and a half yrs. Our case closed almost two yrs ago. We
would have gone for it as very soon after case closed but daughter changed therapist and she needed time to adjust
to new one. We also just was able to afford lawyer to help us. Turns our we dont really need one, everyone is on same pg.
Mother in law wanted it from the start but we had to convince therapist and now shes on board. Wish us luck! :D

Once CPS gets out of the way, families often can come up with a far better arrangement all around.

Enjoy your visits, and may they increase in frequency!

Thankyou family man, and Eljay this is with the youngest who lives in the same state as we do.
The other two are in a different state. We recently saw the oldest on her 16th birthday. :D

The new court orders say that any changes can be made as long as all parties agree. This keeps us out of court again.
We got an unexpected overnight last Sat night and it went so well we are getting another one this Sat.
our daughter was in seventh heven as were we. :D

So I learned the other day that cps wrote in their files that parents will never regain custody and they didnt think we would
get past supervised visits. Well so far they have been wrong. We are at overnights and doing well.
This was what my mother in law told my husband that was in her files. However I read court orders and nothing
like that appears. My mom has also asked my 16 yr old if she would like to got to court and come back to live with
us for her senior yr next yr. Why would my mom say that if cps says we would never regain custody? Cps was talking
through both sides of their u know whats. My daughter wants to stay because she has made friends there and I dont blame
her. She is coming home for college so thats good. Anyway Im just happy to have made some acomolishments. :D

It sounds like your mom is supportive. That's good.

It's a shape they have so much power to rip families apart.
My child was abducted by the government. They demanded a ransom (the case plan). I paid the ransom and my child was kept anyway. It isn't much different from stranger abduction except that the government uses its power to make the abduction legal and unpunishable.
