Re: Parent Aides, friend or foe?
Obviously, you have the right to disagree with anything stated by the foster parents or the parent aides. It is your original question that I was confused by, as you were asking how to deal with parent aides that are friends with foster parents. I guess I could have more clearly answered the questi...

Re: Parent Aides, friend or foe?
I most certainly do, I feel all should be on good terms. Very good. I am referring to a one sided situation with lies among other things going on with intent to do harm as far as the best interest of the children. I have every respect for FP and others involved in any case, but good FP and aides do...

Even though it happened 18yrs. ago when my son almost 3yrs.-old and my daughter was only 5mos.-old. It still hurts. My (ex)wife(I actually didn't divorce her until 2.5yrs. after she left with the kids) left me taking the kids and, she was a single mom FOR ONLY ONE MONTH !!!! :x Living at her (late)...

Re: Parent Aides, friend or foe?
How do you handle Parent Aides that are friends and are friends of friends with the Foster Parents and they write reports that are totally wrong. What difference does any relation to the foster parents make? Indeed, many foster parents are also visit supervisors or parent aides. I understand the po...

Re: Lost, everything about case seems unethecial/illegal
I am a foster parent, so I thought I'd address your foster parent questions. How do you battle FP that pick and find fault (falsely) with every visit. I'm presuming that the foster parent is acting as the visit supervisor and/or parent aide? Otherwise, the foster parent(s) should not be critiquing t...

Re: RE-Instatement of Parental Rights Limited
To anyone: What are the options for those of us who do not live in states that do not have a law to re-instate parental rights? I think you meant the opposite of what you asked. But you may want to clarify. Interpreting your question literally (removing the double-negative), you are asking what the...

Re: Court Order visitations
First off, I want to mention that I am a foster parent, so that you know the position from which I speak. what happens to a foster parent who refuses to follow court order visitations with biological parent. I feel like the foster mom will violate it just to take my daughter to see a movie instead w...

Re: Gone to the news with story regarding CPS
My son was an adult living on his own with his girlfriend who was also an adult. That makes all the difference in the world. You have no obligation to protect an adult child. If he got into drugs, gangs, etc. as an adult that is not your responsibility. I am left wondering why the state did not imm...

Re: Gone to the news with story regarding CPS
I'm the parental grandma trying to get custody of my son's baby girl. Both my son and his girlfriend (baby's mother) were murdered. CPS immediatly that same night gave my baby girl to a couple who went into the program of foster parents to adopt. (??) Many foster parents are interested in adoption....

Re: Have cps broken the 4th and 14th Amendment on my case?
"The police contacted CPS and two days later they came entered my home I had no idea that they had to achually have a court order to enter your home." They don't. They need a court order or your permission. If you gave your permission, even reluctantly, there was no 4th amendment violation...

Re: MY NIGHTMARE
Let's see if I can understand this. You are upset that custody of your son was given to his father, who was employed (at least some of the time) and had a home, but you suspect him of abuse and neglect - but you went back to him anyway for a time. You've been on drugs, welfare because you didn't fee...

Re: Presence & use of drugs is NOT grounds for dependency
Is it case law for the entire country, or just for the 1rst district? I would think it would have to be a US Supreme Court ruling, for it to apply to the entire country. But I could be wrong. I agree with you Family Man; this would be only over the 1st district. Indeed, I think it's even more restr...

Hypothetically, the foster reimbursements cover all necessary expenses of childcare borne by the foster parents. So, again hypothetically, your question presupposes something that isn't so; that they fail to cover the expenses. As a foster parent I'm with you. The reimbursements cover perhaps half o...

Re: missing child visits due to reasons not caused by parent
As far as what the law is, I would advise that the parent address that question with his or her lawyer. My experience in this regard has changed. It used to be that visits missed due to circumstances with CPS, transportation, and visit supervisors, were made up at a later date and time. More recentl...

Wow, that's a little harsh dont you think. Are you always this rude to people? I understand the English and I am extremely intellectual for your information. Re: CPS just left;leaving business card
I dont understand what step u mean. I cannot figure it out at all I mean the step in which there is any allegation of neglect or abuse of children. You allege stolen money and then go straight to CPS involvement. You've skipped or glossed over something; namely where allegations of neglect or abuse...

any opinions? Oh, yes... but maybe you don't want to hear them? My son is 12 and I spanked him one morning on the butt with a belt That's not "spanking"; that's "beating", and it's an assault. This seems too obvious to say, but in civil society we do not beat each other with wea...

I think you missed a step.
Step 1: money allegedly stolen
Step 2: call for investigation into stolen money
Step 3: ???
Step 4: CPS involvement

I'm super irritated that CPS didn't comply with court ordered increased visitations. CPS claimed that there wasn't transportation available. Transportation here is atrocious. As such we do whatever we can to arrange other forms of transportation that are more available and dependable. I don't know ...

Re: Is a 9 year old at a park alone neglectful?
[size=120]The state could pay for that child care solution, and it would be a huge cost savings because the cost of having a child in foster care and all the "services" that go with it is much more than the cost of actually helping the family and keeping them together. No doubt that would...

Re: Is a 9 year old at a park alone neglectful?
" It is such a tragedy that they aren't told what to avoid doing as parents... they have to make a mistake before they realize they've done the wrong thing..." That's a fair point. But the parents are, biologically at least, adults by the definition of parent. Do you not consider it reason...

The way the Child Welfare System is run is reason enough for parents to be suspicious of the true motives and intentions of Foster Parent's in my humble opinion. I'm curious what alternative motivations you would/have entertained. Quite frankly, other than the intrinsic rewards of parenthood and ch...

Is a 9 year old at a park alone neglectful?
Interesting story. Mom goes to work at McDonalds. 9 year old daughter is dropped off at the park for the workday. On the third day the child is placed in state guardianship and the mother arrested. http://reason.com/blog/2014/07/14/mom-jailed-because-she-let-her-9-year-ol A couple of questions come ...

Hello heavyaaron, and thank you for joining this forum! Thanks for the welcome. Most of the people who come here believe they have suffered a great injustice at the hands of CPS and the justice system, and in many cases, perhaps most of them, they are right. I've read through a few dozen of such th...
