Finding Your Caseworker's Email Address

This should work in most cases. Let's say our fictional caseworker is Ms. Marey Smith of Tucson, Arizona (Pima County), but she refuses to give you her work email. 1. Go to your county's official website. (Google your county, for example Pima County Arizona . Their official website should be one of ...

Which means it's up to us to educate people about their rights, whenever we have an opportunity.

She's doing her students a disservice. One day one of them may go after the wrong person, and end up sued or arrested. She would serve them better by teaching them to follow the law.

Did you ask her which specific laws give social workers the right to enter without a warrant or force their way in? I don't mean local department policies; I mean actual state or federal laws. She made the statement, so the burden of proof is on her.

Re: NEW DAY NEW PROBLEM WITH CPS

Here's an an example of a HIPAA compliant release form. It won't suit your husband's needs, but it may serve as a guideline for what you wish to include or exclude, and how to word it. Note the provisions at the end allowing for revocation of permission. https://www.novitas-solutions.com/partb/forms...

If you will PM me and tell me what city, state, & county you're in, and your social worker's name, I'll see if I can track down an email address. No guarantees, but I'll try. Don't tell me your real name, just the caseworker info.

Re: NEW DAY NEW PROBLEM WITH CPS

Every time they assure you of something but fail to put it in writing, it might be a good idea to follow up immediately with a letter such as this: Dear Caseworker Smith, This is just to document what you told me during our meeting at your office at 2PM yesterday, 1/1/2012. You assured me that my dr...

I would mail or hand-carry them a written statement saying something along these lines. During my interview with Caseworker Smith and Substance Abuse Sally on (date), both of you assured me that my drug test results were negative. According to the attached copy of court order #12345, dated xx/xx/201...

Re: Federal and PA satate laws and handbooks?

It's interesting to me that it seems we can legally say where our son should go if we both die but not if CYS decides we can't have our son.Is this true? I want to be sure. Yes, it's true. Once your kids are in CPS care, CPS calls all the shots. (Well, the court does, technically, but usually the c...

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that your home was filthy, though I see how it came across that way. I guess I got carried away remembering what it was like for my son and DIL. Her mom moved in with them for a while (against my son's wishes) and ended up trashing their home, too, which is another reas...

Also, I looked up the recording laws for PA and it sounds like we are not allowed to record unless all parties consent. Would this also include government officials? Probably. In my opinion government officials have no reasonable expectation of privacy while engaged in official duties, but I'm not ...

My heart really goes out to you. Your case reminds me a little of my DIL's case. She also got pregnant as a minor, and she has learning disabilities. Her mother has untreated (probably undiagnosed) mental issues, which manifest as hoarding (filthy house full of stuff). CPS took my DIL's first baby a...

Re: This is a Election Year, Don't Vote for more of the Same

I absolutely agree. We must stop electing people who make it possible for CPS to exploit innocent families. It's important to start educating the candidates, many of whom assume CPS is a benevolent agency that really wants to help kids. Next time I get a phone call from a real, live political canvas...

I guess what I am getting at is why do they want OUR medical yet medical information I have given them they do nothing with? They want medical information that helps them build a case to keep your kids. Information that makes you look like a safe parent is no use to them. CPS generates revenue base...

Re: Assistance needed, fighting CPS, Catawba County NC

#1 - If you believe you're telling the truth, it will register as a truthful answer. However, lie detector tests aren't even close to foolproof, which is why most states won't allow the results to be used in court. And it's quite common for police to lie about the results. Even if your daughter pass...

Re: Desperate for help in Knox County Texas

I agree with Eljay's advice. It's standard for cops to try to trick people into confessing. Don't take it personally; they really are trying to find out who's guilty. The fact that they're also investigating your friend is a very good sign. Stick to the truth, but say as little as possible. The less...

Technically, she cannot force you to take a drug test without a court order. And she can't remove the child without a court order, unless she believes that the child is in imminent danger. Have you signed anything yet? If not, don't, until you've armed yourself with more knowledge of how the system ...

I am so pleased that your sister won! :D :D :D That's the kind of news that keeps me going on this forum. Thanks for the update, and please let us know when the baby comes home. The 24 hour delay is petty and vindictive. Your sister is just as safe on Day 1 as she is on Day 2. But that's CPS for you...

This ruling was just a ploy to undermine your efforts with your daughter. If I were you, I would appeal it all the way up the food chain. They've now officially branded you a "child abuser," which (unless I'm totally mistaken about how things work) would disqualify you from ever getting Br...

Re: Need to win Temprary emergency Custody on Monday.Help!

You make a very good case in your post about why the baby should come to your home. Now, you need to transfer that information to a format the court can use. Wtite a statement correcting and refuting the social worker's report (I assume your sister has a copy of the initial report), and then have yo...
