Re: how do i get my declaration of facts filed in court

The legal system, at least out here in California is the other half of the problem, just horrible how these lawyers are in cahoots with the cps system systems. Monkette, I don't know if you have read this or not, but the Bar association pretty much tells lawyers to screw the parents http://apps.ame...

Re: statute of limitations for dss investigation?

Plus, not *all* case workers are evil, money hungry monsters. They may actually be real human beings who care about what is best for your children. I agree... We have had a couple, maybe a few(?), on the site over the years who would answer what they would do as a caseworker in someones particular ...

Re: Brand new post...

IMHO, the solution to the CPS monster is to have declining funding. There are some children/families in need of CPS intervention, but it's the icing on the cake funding that is bringing about the destruction of families. Give them their 100% funding for the first month, then take 10% away each mont...

Hi Finn

Yes, it has been awhile...I'm happy some of the wounds are healing, "normal life" isn't all normal after a CPS case.. I'm glad you stopped back.

Tim

p.s. congrats on the grandkids

Re: statute of limitations for dss investigation?

The website states they have 45 days and can extend it by 15 days if they have good cause. But wouldn't they have to let you know if they did. They just need to show a judge "good cause" after the 60 days if the allegations are "founded" and the judge will side with them every t...

Re: statute of limitations for dss investigation?

Hi matt Welcome to the site Depending on State law, CPS agencies usually have up to 30, 60, or 90 days after receiving the report to complete the initial assessment or investigation. They can take the extra time and not tell you anything.... Check your state laws on time allowed to investigate.. Be ...

Re: service plan

Case plans are to be developed with the parents present, not done by the worker on their own with anything they want added to them.. Read here about case plans: http://www.childwelfare.gov/pubs/usermanuals/cps/cpsh.cfm "Families who believe that their feelings and concerns are heard are more li...

Re: service plan

How can they expect a pair of shoes a week from each of the parents? It can't mean every item each week...

Was the service plan developed with the parents input or was it already filled out by the caseworker and they were told to sign it?

Re: False Report Filed. What are my options?

I would like the person who filed the report to feel the wrongness of his/her action, and to retract the report. And I want my name removed from the system. 1. You can't find out who reported it and the report won't be retracted.. 2. It stays in your file, in case there are more reports in the futu...

I think your right, I thought the FBI's NCIC check included the National Child Abuse Registry, it doesn't.... I just looked and it only includes the National Sex Offender Registry..

You could apply for a day care job you don't want just to see what the employer finds..

I'm going to add to monkette's post.. Criminal cases are held in CRIMINAL court, when your charged with crimes you have rights; due process, innocent until proven guilty, right to a speedy trial, right to a jury trial. Being found guilty is based on "Beyond a reasonable doubt" evidence. 80...
