What I would do over?
IMO; AVOID ANY AND ALL CONTACT WITH CPS.
They will lie on you in their report/investigation. I successfully got an "inconclusive" determination of physical abuse kicked bldown to unfounded. In California inconclusive is one step below substantiated, so this is a big deal.
How I did it. First of all my advice to anyone is to be 100% innocent.
You ARE NOT gonna beat CPS complaining to CPS, they won't listen. I live in Riverside County (California) so this will work in any California County. Get the email address to every county Board of Supervisor (they control everything in the county), the Director of your county DPSS. Email the director your complaint and CC the Board of Supervisors. Request a meeting with the Director and request that a BOS representative be present.
The Director will make this go away (if you are innocent) just out of embarrassment in most cases. Riverside county DPSS gets sued left/right.
I was awarded joint legal and physical custody.
