Book List that might be helpful

Postby littleplanet » Sun Oct 16, 2011 11:27 pm

Hi Everybody -

On the topic of psychiatry & medications.....
(well, I'm a library researcher and the liberty bell went off in my head...)

Here's a short list of good books on this whole issue.
You might find some of them helpful.
They are mostly written by practising psychologists (although one or two are also written by inside whistleblowers....)

ADHD FRAUD by Fred A. Baughman Jr. MD

Confessions of an RX Drug Pusher by Gwen Olsen *

Remembering Ritalin by Lawrence H. Diller, MD

Talking Back to Ritalin by Peter R. Breggin, MD

Reclaiming Our Children by Peter R. Breggin, MD

The Hyperactivity Hoax by Sydney Walker, MD

Running on Ritalin by Lawrence H. Diller, MD

The Last Normal Child by Lawrence H. Diller, MD

Medication Madness by Peter R. Breggin, MD

A Dose of Sanity by Sidney Walker, MD

Big Pharma by Jacky Law

Prescription game by Jeffrey Robinson

They Say You're Crazy by Paula J. Kaplan, PhD

- and finally, a very good book about the "child-saving industry".....although written 21 years ago (1990)
it is still an excellent study of the industry, its beginnings, what and why it grew into what it has become...

Wounded Innocents by Richard Wexler

There's lots more.......but I'll leave you with this short list for now.
If anyone is looking for more of the same - let me know.
I can find titles and authors through interlibrary research pretty easily.
just let me laugh when it's funny
but when it's sad, let me cry
