What to do if you miss deadline to request hearing???

Postby blaknupe » Mon May 18, 2015 4:23 pm

Hello,

I am concerned because I missed the sixty deadline to request a hearing to dispute CPS findings. I was never questioned or interviewed during their investigation. I received notification in the mail stating that I had been deemed "indicated" and had 60 days to appeal. I was in a state of depression because of the false allegations and pending criminal trial. I simply was not in the right state of mind to respond. Needless to say, I was acquitted of all charges in the circuit court in MD, but the CPS findings is keeping me from returning to my job. I requested a hearing with the Office of Administrative Hearings, but my request was dismissed because of the 60 day deadline. My attorney is preparing the brief to appeal to circuit court in PG County MD. Has anyone else gone through this?
