custody during sexual abuse investigation

[My 4 year old granddaughter and her 2 year old brother are being held by CPS after she was taken to a hospital due to sexual abuse. She was staying with her father as the parents have a joint custody agreement. The investigator and the social worker will not give us any information and suggested an attorney. My daughter cannot afford one and knows that nothing happened during the kids time with her, as we never leave them with anyone. We see them suffering from this, but do not know what do to get them released to our family.size=18][/size]
